Yes, thanks for that! ;)

I would like to eventually try some, but as my freehand isn't the greatest I will hold off for now.

Thanks for looking hendrik!

i'd say give it a try with your next model! even if you f*** up it'll just take another layer of brown to cover it up ^_^

Haha, thanks for the encouragement! I will say what I can do. :)

I would love to see this - even as only a trial - I've long thought about trying it but I know my own free-hand skills are lower than a dead badger in a rabbit hole... good luck kas :P

Kassill, man these are great!! I am loving the heads you are using, what kit are they from (fantasy marauders)??

Love the grey with Red icons look. Very bold, very eye catching.

Nice looking work as always!!

Could have sworn I had replied to this thread. :tu:

@ Russ Brother 92: Thanks brother! I will see what I can attempt soon.

@ Rune_Priest_Rhapsody: Thanks! Yes, they are from the Warriors of Chaos Maurauder Horsemen kit. Sweet, that was the look I was trying to achieve, glad it's working! ;)

@ Rayray: Haha, thanks! Snag away, as this was an idea snagged from hendrik! :D

Update, the next two Hunters have been primed and waiting for base colors. Going to see if I can start rolling off two at time and finish quicker and possibly vow more stuff. But, progress will be slow as I'm heading out of town for the weekend, then probably gone again sometime next week, but we will see.

Again, thanks for all the feedback! Lets me know I'm doing something right and keeps me motivated! ;)

Hjolda!

Almost a month and no update?! Well, here is a small one to get me going again.

Making more progress on my first vow for the ETL. Got two more Grey Hunters done (minus bases, will do the entire squad in one go)

Here they are, Wolf Standard Bearer and fellow Grey Hunter.

and the rest of the squad is slowly following along...

primed

and base armor color down.

Hopefully I can knock out a few more soon. They thing that may hold me up before starting a second vow is getting a Combi Melta arm for the WGBL. Once that's done, I'll probably vow up another GH pack and Vindicator. Then we will see how close to the deadline that is.

Thanks for looking! :P

@Hendrik: Ok ok, I will.... soon :(

@Rayray: Thanks Ray! Yes, I agree. These heads are fantastic. And, being slightly smaller scale really seems to beef them up a bit like some of the artwork shows.

Thanks WLK! That's the look I'm going for! Really fell in love with the description of the Wolves in Prospero Burns, so trying to achieve that look on the table top now. Glad it's working! :P

Hello everyone! I've returned from my hiatus and bring to you a small update. Just now getting back into the swing of 40k after taking a break and working on a Rune Priest for the Winter Advance.

Here is my WIP pick. I know nothing fancy, but WIP usually aren't.

http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy134/Kassill1/IMG_0317.jpg

Also I'm slowly working on building my Wolf Lord Thorimir Kingslayer and needing some modelling advice. I've gotten the head and chest piece I want to use and I've already gotten the TWM I plan to use. What I need help with his getting him a proper Frost Blade and Shield. Also some advice on a decent cloak to use as well.

Frost Blade idea so far is this:

http://www.thewarstore.com/product27444.html

I'm just afraid it's too small and not imposing enough. I want a proper blade that my opponent can tell means business and looks fitting of a Wolf Lord known for beheading kings with.

I've also thought about using the Bloodletter blade but not sure what hilt to attach the blade to (as the one it's on is kind of...well....khorny)

And for Thunder Shield ideas I'm not sure either.

Ideas so far include

A: http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/product_info.php/...r-shield-p-7863

B: http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/product_info.php/...r-shield-p-7862

But I'm really not sold on either to be honest.

Any help or ideas appreciated! Thanks Guys!

Hjolda!

Once again I return but this time I bring a fully painted Rune Priest as an offering! (still needs basing I know....) Went to a tournament this past weekend and took my guard for a spin. Been regretting not taking my Wolves and ever since I've been painting up this guy. Didn't finish him in time for the Winter Advance (first one I haven't done in two years. I recognize my failing and will be sure to correct it.)

So with that, I started watching History Channels "Vikings" (great show by the way) and pulled out my paints and brushes. Two days later this is the finished model, Erik Stormborn, Rune Priest of the company of Jarl Thorimir Kingslayer.

The runes are a bit rough I know, but from table tops view doesnt look half bad if I do say so myself.

As always, let me know what you think brothers (and sisters!).

Up next, my 3rd Grey Hunter pack. Stay tuned! msn-wink.gif

Thanks so much for the comments guys, glad you like them! msn-wink.gif

@Thirdfox : That's the idea! Glad it comes across so well. Basic idea is a Great Company and there Jarl who still cling to old traditions and such in the modern 40K times.

@ End of Line : I'm glad you think so too! I'll hopefully be starting on them once I finish this 3rd Grey Hunter pack. Still need a few conversion bits for the Thunderwolves though.

Hey Kassill. If you are still working on your WL idea, for the frost blade, definitly the Blood letter blade. For the hilt, look at the eagle bit with the wolf skull from the Wolf Guard Terminator box set. I tried it on one of my Wolf Guard & love it. Trying to get a couple more right now. I'll try to post a pic tonight so you can make your own decision. AS for the rest of your work, great stuff, please keep it up.
