=][= 2011 B&C Army Bag, Dice and Patches =][=

Recommended Posts

Hello all -

There is a lot to read here so please make sure you take your time and read thoroughly.

Well we asked you guys what you wanted, swag wise, this year and we got a little bit of everything. While we didn't feel we could do the tape measure to the quality level we wanted we can do Dice, Patches and the B&C Army bag.

In the posts below you will find all the details you need to order and pay for the items you want. If you have questions feel free to ask but in the mean time a quick F.A.Q.:

F.A.Q.

What forms of payment do you take?

We use paypal. It is the easiest way for everyone involved. In the event you live in a country that doesn't allow paypal or you just absolutely refuse to use it we can possibly make separate arrangements through Western Union or other means but please don't ask to send cash or checks.

Do I have to order everything?

No. If you want only a patch or only a bag or dice and a bag and so on that is fine.

Is there anyway the prices can come down?

Unfortunately no, though the dice may be a different matter. For those who have been around here awhile you know that anything we offer to the members is a high quality item. The bags and patches have set costs. The dice cost changes with quantity ordered. However last year we failed to hit the target goal so the dice wound up being $3.00 each (7 custom faces factors into that as well). The next price break on the dice after 3k quantity is 5k, 8k and 10k. It would be very cool to reach those #s but I'm not entirely sure we can.

Can I get custom colors or logos (such as Chapter logos) on my dice or army bag?

The colors we offer are what we can do for this years order. The army bags have multiple colors this year. Offering any color possible on dice would require 100 dice per color combo at a minimum. While we may offer this in another year we felt this year was not the time to do so. In regards to Chapter logos, they definitely cannot be done for the army bags. If we only have 2-3 people at a time getting (as an example) an Ultramarine bag it greatly increases the bag cost due to the digitizing fee for any artwork that gets embroidered. It is something we might consider for dice down the road but not at this time.

Do the items cost include taxes?

Yes. 6.5% is the sales tax and so that has been added to each item. There is no tax on shipping. Please note that this does not include any customs fee that those living outside the USA may have to pay.

Once everything is ready to ship how long will it take me to receive my items?

If you are in the USA you should get everything within 5 days of it shipping out. If you are outside the USA we simply can't say. Priority mail is typically 5-7 days while airmail is typically 7-10 days. However that is only the time it takes to reach customs in most countries. Once it hits customs it is passed off to the local mail carrier (royal mail for example) and we have no way to say when you get it after that. Canada and Sweden are both countries where the customs official seems to hold on to stuff for a long time. Italy won't even accept priority mail from the USA.

When do you expect to be shipping items?

Our goal right now is to place the orders on Sept. 1 for all items. If things go to plan this should be mean we have everything by Oct. 1 and it should ship within a week or two of that. If the weather is nice and customs official are even nicer, then everyone should have their items no later than Nov. 1.

Does the B&C benefit from selling these items?

We do, but only in a small way monetarily. We like giving back to the community so any extra left over after the orders are placed and everything is mailed out goes right back into maintaining the server and paying the monthly hosting fees for the server. Naturally straight donations always help things out but we like to see folks get something they can use in their gaming efforts as well.

Will you be using the power mackarel on people this year?

Possibly.

2011 Bolter and Chainsword Dice and Dice Bags

Based off feedback from the 2010 dice, we are offering dice again in 2011 but with art closer to the 2008 design.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE SUBMITTING A PM/EMAIL or ASKING QUESTIONS.

The Details

We will be offering both dice and dice bags again.

We've brought B&C founder Bloodsaint back to once again do the artwork for the dice.

The dice are laser etched blanks and then painted.

The dice are produced by Gamestation.net here in the States. Their dice division is called Customdice.com. You can see their Facebook page and Youtube video to see samples here:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Custom-Dice/288720050653

The dice are 16mm (same size as the GW scatter dice) and square cut just like 2 years ago.

Colors: Once again we are offering Chapter colors (such as yellow with black art for Space Wolf players). We have added blue with red art for you Crimson Fist fans this year.

Cost: Assuming we meet the quantity requirements the dice will be $2.50 each (this includes tax), dice bags will be $8 each. These prices are based on 2k dice and 100 dice bags ordered. We just barely hit those #s in 2010. If we get 3k or more the price on the dice will go down. If this does happen we will of course offer folks who have already paid the option to either get extra dice or get a refund of the extra if they choose.

If we get to 3k the dice go down to $2.25 each. If we somehow hit 5k the dice go down to about $2.00 each and then discounts at 8k and 10k respectively. Most we have ever done in a dice order is just over 3k so not sure how likely the 5,8 and 10k #s will be here.

THE DICE

Unlike like last year where we had 7 custom faces, we are only going with 6 this year which helps to keep the cost down some.

Your color choices for the 2011 dice are:
White - Red
White - Black
Black - Red
Black - White
Red - White
Red - Black
Yellow - Black -- could work for Imperial Fists, Scythes, Space Wolves or even Iron Warriors
Blue - White -- for you Smurfs and Smurf related Chapters
Blue - Red -- for your Crimson Fist fans
Green - White -- Mentors, Dark Angels and so on
Ivory - Red -- Deathwing

PLEASE NOTE: WHEN YOU SEND IN YOUR ODER THE FIRST COLOR YOU HAVE IS WHAT WE GO OFF. SO IF YOU PUT IN white-red YOU ARE GETTING WHITE DICE WITH RED "PIPS" (artwork).

Here is a mock up that BloodSaint did (please note the colors are approximations):

DICE BAGS

Our dice bags are the same as last year.

The bags are 6" x 9" in size

Here is the logo we use for the dice bags:
gallery_2_3712_1919.jpg

Your color choices for a dice bag are:

Red
Green
Black
Blue

Last year we also had grey, purple and brown but they turned out to be smaller bags so we aren't going to offer those this year.

Here is a pick of a green 2010 bag next to the old 2008 bag. The dice bags are 6 inches x 9 inches and hold between 60-70 16mm dice.

This is a pic of the 2010 dice so you can see they are quality items:
gallery_2_3712_47283.jpg

As you can see they are nice square cuts and the art work turned out great! Sorry for the slight slope but I was quickly snapping shots here and didn't level the photog-stage out.

Here is a set of dice in the same size from different makers. Left to right is Chessex -- GW Scatter -- B&C 2008 -- B&C 2010

COST: Dice and Dice Bag

DICE

Dice are $2.50 (US) each. This assumes we get at least 2,000 dice ordered. We came in just under that last year so I ordered a few extra to keep the costs down. If we get 3k dice then price goes down by about $.25

DICE BAG

Dice bags are $8 each.

Yes you can order just a dice bag if you wish (but your missing out on sweet B&C dice if you do! :P ).

THE PATCH

Here is the original shoulder patch design, coming in at 4" in diameter (artwork by BloodSaint):
gallery_4_3912_73921.png

As you can see by the proof, we have altered the 2011 version of the patch to have Old English font (more in line with B&C styling that way):
gallery_2_3712_50470.jpg

Another change we made this year to the patches is that they have velcro backing. So you can either sew them on or velcro them on depending on what you are attaching the patch to.

COST

Patches are $5.50 each

B&C ARMY BAGS

GENERAL BAG INFORMATION

The bags are produced by Initial Attack under their BagMaker line.

Logo work is done by Bryant Ideas

The bags are designed to carry Sabol Design's Figure Foam.
REMEMBER THE BAGS DO NOT -- DO NOT -- DO NOT -- INCLUDE FOAM. However we have listed a few places you can get foam below.

The bags are made of high quality cordura, a fabric which some of you military types are probably familiar with and carry a limited life time warranty which you can see on the Initial Attack website. These bags are high quality and done by hand so they are expensive.

There are two types of bags available and here are their relative specs and some pictures. Please note, the pictures depict bags from some of the past years and so do not include the changes we have made to the 2011 bags.

Mk. I Bag Specs

Dimensions: 13.5"W x 8"D x 20"H
Fully zippered open front -- the bag would zip all the way down to the base and open. No more cramming your hands down the side to pull your foam trays out.
Cut to hold AT army case foam Sabol Designs -- the bag was specifically designed to hold AT army case foam trays so there is no worries about proper fit.
Capacity - 20 inches of foam carrying space makes the bag able to hold your entire army and more for easy transport.
Handles - twin handles with a velcro clasp to allow for easy carrying by hand.
Shoulder strap -- padded shoulder strap for easy carrying.
High quality cordura -- Cordura is a durable fabric used in various industries for clothing, bags and other heavy duty items. This bag will hold up to the punishment any gamer can give out.
Front zipper pocket -- this pocket was big enough to carry all your rule books -- even the BBB -- and still be fully closed.
Side "swag" pocket -- a pocket running the length of the bag to hold blister packs, soda, dice cages/bags, just about any small gaming item that one might need for a hard night of warfare.
Side utility pocket -- a pocket for holding your pens/markers/pencils and your tape measure.
Padded sides -- the bag is constructed with padding in the soft frame to add a further layer of cushion for your army. You can check these bags on a plane though not being hard sided it is impossible to say they would stop damage from happening all the time.

Mk. II Bag Specs

Dimensions: 13.5" x 8"D x 15"H
Fully zippered open front -- the bag would zip all the way down to the base and open. No more cramming your hands down the side to pull your foam trays out.
Cut to hold AT army case foam from Sabol Designs -- the bag was specifically designed to hold AT army case foam trays so there is no worries about proper fit.
Capacity - 15 inches of foam carrying space makes the bag able to hold your entire army. Smaller than the Mk. I as people felt Mk. I was a bit big for people.
Rear zipper pocket -- this pocket was big enough to carry all your rule books -- even the BBB -- and still be fully closed. We moved this pocket from the front as it caused some tip over issue in the Mk. I.

Here is a picture of a (from left to right) Army Transport case by Sabol, Mk. II prototype and a Mk. I prototype:

Here are pictures of a MK.II from all sides and opened up (all the bags have the same basic design it's just a question of size):

COLORS

This year the default bag will be black with black webbing (as opposed to the black with red in 2008).

We are also doing the updated logo in full black (baseball hat style for those that are familiar with this). So the new logo is:
gallery_2_3712_1919.jpg

The logo is embroidered and comes in around 20,000 stitches per bag.

However this year we are also offering Chapter colors (note I said colors and not logos, see the FAQ for why)! This means you can get a non-black bag with black webbing and the logo in black. We've offered this for several years to the folks at The Waaagh and they seem to love it.

So colors you can get:
Green
Red
Grey
Black
Yellow
Blue
Brown
Maroon
Purple
Hunter Orange

(there might be some other colors, I'll have to double check).

Can we have a camo bag? you might ask

The answer is maybe. Yes we can do certain camos, typically US Army styles and non-digital. However if you want a camo bag it does increase the cost somewhat as the bagmaker charges more for that fabric.

CHANGES TO THE 2011 BAG

We had a few folks in the 2008 bag have the side webbing fail where the shoulder strap d-ring meets the bag. Based off pictures we submitted to the Bagmaker about this they felt it was either the plastic d-ring have a sharp edge (think flash on a mini) that was fraying the strap, a bad batch of webbing or not enough stitching.

As we have done these bags since 2004 and never had this issue we sat down and talked with the folks at Initial Attack to see what we could do. So for 2011 the side webbing will have additional stitching and the d-ring is being changed from plastic to metal. This does raise the cost of the bags by a few dollars but we feel is worth it in the long term.

COST

Costs include the bag, embroidery and sales tax. Shipping is detailed later and is an extra cost associated with your order.

Mk. I: $130
Mk. II: $120

WHERE CAN I GET FOAM FOR MY BAG

REMEMBER THE BAGS DO NOT -- DO NOT -- DO NOT -- INCLUDE FOAM. However listed below are several places that you can purchase Sabol sized foam. Your local game retailer may carry these items as well.

Sabol Design
TheWarstore.com carries Sabol foam.
Wayland Games carries two tray types of the Battle Foam Sabol size trays:
bf-sd40t (40 troop tray from the Battlefoam site)
bf-sd27tm (27 tall tray from the Battlefoam site)
Outrider Hobbies
Battlefoam which have a line of their own Sabol sized trays.

Many local stores have Sabol foam as well.

Please remember when getting foam your bag that the Sabol trays have a 1/4" base on them. So a 2" foam piece is actually 2 and 1/4" tall.

One reason we don't have these filled with foam is that it prevents us from folding the bags up when we ship. They are already rather expensive to ship to folks outside the USA and the weight and increased size of putting foam in them would make the cost even greater.

SHIPPING

Shipping is a flat rate based on the largest item you order. As an example if you order a patch, 50 dice and a Mk. II army bag then you will be charged shipping based on the army bag as it takes up the most space.

These costs shouldn't change unless you order multiple army bags. More bags means a bigger box and a bigger box (at least those going out of the USA) typically costs more to ship.

PLEASE NOTE: If you order a bag and live outside the USA we cannot send it via priority mail. Priority mail for a box that holds a Mk. I or Mk. II bag typically starts around $70 and goes up from there so we go with airmail as it is half the cost, though it does take up to a week longer to reach you.

Patch Shipping:
USA - $3
NON-USA $5

Dice Shipping:
USA - $5
NON-USA $14

Bag Shipping
USA - $20 (FEDEX GROUND)
NON-USA $35 (International Air Mail)

So again if you order one of each thing then your shipping would be Bag Shipping (i.e. $20 or $35 respectively). If you order just a patch then you are only paying patch shipping ($5 for everyone).

PLACING YOUR ORDER

Please title your EMAIL or PM as " B&C 2011 SWAG"

Include the following information:
B&C Display name: (the name that appears next to your posts at the B&C). If you aren't a B&C member then obviously you have nothing to put there.
Your real name: Need to know who we are sending stuff too.
Your address.
The email you want the paypal invoice sent to: This is very important. If you have a Paypal account then use the email that is attached to that account. If you don't have a paypal account then please use an email that you actually check/use so we can invoice you there.
Phone #: This helps on the customs forms with some countries and for those in the US it makes any FEDEX packages easier to deal with for you.
# and type of items you want: So if you want 2 patches, 20 red-white dice, 1 Blue dice bag and 1 Mk. II transport in blue -- please make sure you are clear on that!!

You can email this to:
gallery_2_1354_5620.jpg

You can also PM Kurgan the info.

I will attempt to reply ASAP to each one that comes in so folks know we have gotten it.

PAYMENT

As mentioned earlier we do this all through Paypal. It is the easiest and safest way for all involved.
You do not need to have a Paypal account to pay through paypal.

If you are 100% dead set against using Paypal please contact me and we can possibly make arrangements through Western Union.

You will receive a Paypal invoice from us after we receive your order request.

You will have until Sept. 1, 2011 to make your payment.

In the unlikely even that we don't even come close to the #s needed for dice (say only 500 are ordered instead of 2,000) we will offer you either a full refund or a partial refund if you are ordering bags/patches alongside it.

TIMELINE

From today until Sept. 1, 2011 we will accepts orders.

on Sept. 1 we will place orders with the dice maker and bag maker (we already have a large # of patches produced).

Sept. 1, 2011 will also be the last day we will take payment for the orders!!!

It should take roughly 4 weeks for the items to be produced and picked up by Kurgan. Following this the items will be boxed up and shipped out. This process could take between 7 and 10 days depending on my work schedule at that time (it is getting close to the time of year where 10 hour shifts are the norm).

This should ensure everyone has their items no later than Nov. 1 (give or take your nations customs office being friendly to your box or not).

Any chance of converting to Battlefoam sized bags at some point? My 2008 B&C bag is my favorite bag, but I haven't been using it since I switched to Battlefoam. I'd buy another B&C bag if it was available sized for Battlefoam trays.

We talked to Battlefoam about that but they weren't amenable to us making a bag that would hold their foam. They want to produce the bag and that would mean minimum orders, redesign and so on.

That said, Battlefoam (as mentioned in the bag section of this thread) does make sabol size trays.

I know that BF make trays sized for Sabol. It's not the foam quality I'm after, it's the size.

I don't understand why you would have to consult with BF in order to make bags sized for their foam. I don't think they asked Sabol if it was ok to make 13x7.5" trays. Why would you have to ask permission to make a bag that holds 15.5x12" trays?

Even if we didn't and went ahead and did it. It would still mean a redesign of the bag and whether or not we would have enough people interested in that size of bag. New bag means minimums to keep the price down. These bags that we have now we don't need a minimum order anymore cause we have been doing this with them for nearly 8 years now.

For this year at least we can't really change anything anyway as we are too far along in the process with most of this stuff. Something we might consider for next time.

How are you getting seven faces on the dice? After thorough examination and several carefully controlled experiments, I counted six faces.

Last years dice had 2 different images for the 6. This year there are only 6 images, so that saves some money per die.

Just a question regarding delivery.

I don't know where I'll be living in September so when I place my order I'll probably use my mothers address (technically my home but I live away due to studies), if I find out where I'm living after the order is placed would I be able to get the address changed? Would be less hassle for me due to forwarding and so on but I can understand if you'd rather not change delivery address.

Can't wait until I get paid lol

I knew I should have waited a little while longer before ordering my last bag. :)

I guess I'll be the first to say thanks again for running this promotion, for lack of a better word. Last year I missed out on the chance to get some dice, but this time my Deathwing will be rolling 5++ in style thanks to Kurgan and crew. To be honest, I might go ahead and order a bag anyway. Any chance in the future you guys will offer smaller sized bags?

Ok. That makes sense. Do you think it might be possible to offer bags in both sizes next year?

A question on the gray for the bags. How dark/light is it? Charcoal gray? Codex Gray? Fortress Gray? I'm looking to color-match it to my Iron Hands, and I'd rather not do it all-black.

If you look up in the pic in the bag thread of all the colored bags from the Waaagh you should see some of the gray ones. I would call it Codex myself.

Just a question regarding delivery.

Yeah as long as it hasn't already shipped out we can change the address.

Question on shipping. If you order 2 bags then you get shipping twice ($40 in this case), correct?

No. If you are in the USA weight isn't as much of an issue so multiple bags in one box are fine. If you are outside the USA you *might* have a higher shipping fee but it shouldn't be double. 2 bags won't effect the weight enough to change it by more than a couple bucks. If you get 3 or more you may see a higher charge as the weight goes up or we wind up having to use multiple boxes (depending on how many you order).

Weight does effect mail going outside the USA but if we fold the bags down tight we can get several in a bag so the increased cost is usually under $10 on those going outside the USA if it gets heavier. The issue where you may have to pay significantly more (for outside the USA shipping) would be if you ordered say 4 Mk. I bags. I can probably squash em down to get into 1 box but if not it would require 2 boxes and therefore 2 shipping fees.

Ok. That makes sense. Do you think it might be possible to offer bags in both sizes next year?

Possibility. We have also looked into going hard sided as well for a future bag release.

For those who have put in your orders already, I have gotten about 14 folks so far who have emailed and another 2 who have PM'd here at the B&C. We got behind at work and are working 5am-330pm the next few days so I'm kinda brain dead and just haven't had the chance to reply to you. You will here from me within the next few days. If you haven't gotten a "we got your order" type PM or email from me by Friday then shoot me a message and I'll double check.
