Your Siege Dread is looking awesome buddy. I'm loving all the details you've added. You can never have enough skulls! And, like Juggernaut said, the eyes are fantastic. They give it a really crazed manic look, like it's about to charge into combat.

Thanks guys, I’m still going to try and add some eyebrows so he looks a bit meaner but I really like the crazy eyes as well. Reminds me of my Chaos Marine Champion

This guy is building a legend for himself. In 7th his squad charge a unit of Plaguemarines and he survived his challenge with the Champ, killed him and finished off the rest of the squad next turn. He then solo charged another unit of PM, survived overwatch and manage to kill another couple of them before falling. He now carries a Nurgle marine helmet on his back pack.

 

I have a few more cables to add to the head and I have some raptor fins that I’ll take the small horns from to try out Guitarasmus idea of the crown of horns.

Thanks for the comments on the Dread guys, I’ve been working a lot lately and not had a lot of time for hobby but made some time tonight and got my Kytan built ready for paint, he and the Siege Dread along with a Dreadclaw are part of my Call of Chaos Vow, need a decent day to get them all sprayed and then I can get to work on them. The Dread especially as I’ll be using it in a local tournament in a couple weeks. I had a practice game on Sunday there and oh my giddy blood god is the Dread a beast, he charged an Ad Mech Knight and managed to shrug off all 4 battle Cannon shots on overwatch and then ripped the knight down to its last two wounds in one round of combat before destroying it the next turn. The knights Fist did do a lot of damage back but not enough to beat the Beast.

Here was the start of the combat. I love the way the Little Dread is squaring up to the Knight.

Heres the Kytan as it stand for now. Really enjoyed putting this together and absolutely love how it looks. Still got a few details to add to it before paint but he’s about 90% there.

And these guys are a unit I’ve wanted to build for a long time. Was rummaging through some sprues earlier and came across the box of BloodCrushers I’d bought for this purpose a while back, the Reiver heads probably won’t be staying although I’m really liking the Champions one so it may stay. Again early WIP

Hehe I imagine your opponent must've been quite surprised to have his knight beaten by a mere dread (a particularly big and cool one but nevertheless:D)

 

And like juggernut, I'm also happy to see some juggers! We do need more pics though.

 

And last but not least, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you'll do with the khytan! Any conversions planned?

Juggernut, Elduderino both of you are to blame for me revisiting this project ;) Glad you approve so far. Will sort better pics once I get my light box sorted. Believe it or not I have zero plans for conversions on the Kytan, I may build a different more skull like head but that would be it apart from adding some trophies.

 

Sagentus, thanks bud. The legs are all part of the Kytan kit. I’ve actually been planning a conversion of one these guys for ages but didn’t feel I could do it justice so it the bullet and bought the official one. So glad I did as like I say absolutely love the model.

 

Isengrin, you have just given the Dread a name :D Honey Badger it is! It’s the perfect description for it.

I like the skull idea for the khytan, the LoS always was a bit too cartoony for me. I'm really tempted to get one anyways and use the legs on a titan, but I guess they can't be ordered separately... luckily this is all theoretical as I'm way to broke for that anyways hehe.

 

When will we see some paint on mr Badger?:)

Was hoping to get him sprayed today but times ran away from me. I’ve been out with the little Nurgling all day. I’ll hopefully get some primer on him tomorrow.

 

I’ll have a play around with the Kytans head, like I say I have a spare head there so don’t need to worry too much about destroying this one. I do really like the standard head, the helmet anyway not so much the face one.

I didnt realise when you buy the Kytan model on FW you got the upper half too, I though tit was just the legs.

That Kytan looks monstrous! You've done a great job with it's pose, it's going to look really cool once it's all painted up. The Bloodcrushers are shaping up nicely too. Did you have to do much conversion work on the legs to get them to fit around the Bloodcrusher bodies?

Cheers buddy, I actually used the legs from the Thunderwolf Cav models. They fit pretty well with no mods. I figure my Lords would be a bit more aggressive so they’re pretty much standing on their mounts while charging

Thanks Red, I’ve been on a bit of a build frenzy tonight. Made a start on a Hellforged Pred, I’ve built a plasma turret as well so I switch it out if I choose. The sponsons aren’t glued either so I can switch between the Heavy Bolter and the Flamers.

Still quite a bit of trim and details not to mention tracks to add but the basic structure is there.

 

Also made a start on my Dreadclaw but I’m goibg to leave that till tomorrow as I’m knackered and don’t want to make a mess of the build.

The hellforged pred is coming on nicely too. Where are the rules for that? in imp armour ? also where did you get the icon on the front from ?

Everything is looking great Bio. Not sure how I feel about the desecration of a Blood Angels relic but the results certainly are awesome :D. I love the Kytan and the Dread is fast becoming a favourite of mine.

Sagentus, you get the rules for them in the FW Chaos Index. They have the options of a flamer/plasma and Melta turret as well as the usual options. That Icon is from the Khorne banners of rage set. It was an eBay buy that is clearly a recast. I’m not sure if I’m going to use it or not. I have another option if you look below :)

Worked a bit more on the Pred this afternoon, I still have some trim to add but I’ve put it away somewhere and can’t find it now haha.

The Daemon heads on the Heavy Bolters will need a bit of work. I still think the turret needs something over the main weapons but not sure what yet. I think I’ll probably leave the Khorne sympol off the havoc launcher. Going to have to trawl eBay and bits sites now for more of those sentinel launchers for the rest of my armour though.

This predator is really great ! Love the plasma Turet, but your last Dread is just the most beautiful things I've seen for a while ! I would love painting such a beast. Awesome job Bio !
