Oh of course, the gladiator history. Thats so friggin awsome man and i love al th weapon options he has. Excellent grab on that shrine piece, looks like it was made to fit.

Foolishly, before becoming a regular on bolter, i always felt like Nurgle had the best bit, options and freedom when it came to conversion that khorne had a raw deal and i wouldn't like looking at a lot  of khornate armies, boy was I wrong though. There's a couple here, especially this thread that are real treat to read, adding so much more character to the models.

Bravo man, this content immense

One tiny thing: those loose hands have very big wrist - that superfluous left wrist now makes his arm a bit long - perhaps shorten it a tiny bit? Also, heads up: mold lines on the left arm! :)

Agree with Augustus, the left hand is too long.  Otherwise, these guys look GREAT!  I love seeing Berserkers in the non-standard poses. Some great work here. Almost inspires me to do something with the 100 berserker models I inhereted. (Still waiting on the shoulder for big projects) That Knight is just OUTSTANDING!

Love the magnetised champ, buddy, and I am soo happy you chose to replace the helmet, after all -- those Reiver helmets just seem a bit too clean-cut for World Eaters, in my opinion.

Could you maybe show us a picture with a combination of the chainsword and left-hand-axe? I suspect that's going to be my favourite loadout on him, from a visual perspective.

That’s only a small part of the collection ;) I will indeed be adding snow to the bases. I plan to strip and repaint the bloodletters and will have them on 32mm bases so they’ll all be done then. :tu:

It's nice to see such a big update on angron, looks superb. I love the shoulder pad, that's from a juggernaught right? The sword is cool too, even though axes seems like the natural thing to put on a khornate model (although almost all demons wield swords, now that I think about it).

What happened to the horns though? I thought they looked very nice mounted upside down, can I steal the idea?:)

Krakendoomcool, I loved those old models as well, I’m keeping an eye out for a Mortarion from back then as well. ;)

Elduderino, thank you, the shoulder pad is from the Lord of Skulls arm, I trimmed it down to a point and added the spikes from the Dark apostle models backpack. I’ve wanted to build Angron for a long time and I’ve only ever wanted him to have the Black Blade, as Krakendoomcool mentions I based him on the old Epic models which had just been released around the time I first became interested in the hobby, so that’s how I’ve always pictured the Red Angel. As for the horns, I like them but I felt they made the upper half of the model too busy and hid a lot of the butchers nails and of course, steal any ideas you like. That’s what this community is for. :tu: (with proper credit of course;))

Hehe and i thought that giving up a juggernaught was somewhat of a sacrifice:D

About the horns, I can see not wanting to cover up the butcher's nails, I've got a similar conundrum myself. Your version actually looks beautiful without them, it's kinda cool seeing a huge red demon without horns for once.

Credit will of course be given, it's just hard remembering who did what or even if something is entirely original. Like playing guitar and improvising some awesome melody, only to realise it's wonderwall haha

Ha bits stores are your friend when it comes to the conversion game :D

As for the horns, I really wanted them to work but as I say they would detract from the Nails and I think it would make him very top heavy, that’s the same reason I’ve left the torso armour off so far. Still unsure if I’ll add it or not yet,

The last comment did have me chuckling :D

Angron's looking spectacular, buddy -- that sword is a work of art! Seriously! He does have a pretty short forehead, though, doesn't he? I mean it does fit his character, but it could be something you might want to work on. Also, are you going to leave him barechested or will he be getting one of the Bloodthirster breastplates? In any case, you have a brilliant model there -- I am almost a little jealous. Good thing I have my own version ;)

The (partial) army shot is also very lovely -- nothing beats seeing a well crafted World Eaters army assembled like that! The combination of red and brass gets me every time! :)

SystemSyn thanks, those big bases are actually some of my old terrain pieces i painted a few years back. I was using them in a game on Sunday so had them to hand. You can just make out a couple more of them at the back of the pack. If you’re still curious though here’s what they look like :tu:

Hushrong, thanks buddy, that’s why I spend so long on posing my models I really want them to look like a mad horde charging forward each unit carrying out their own objectives but to the enemy it’s just a unified sea of blood crazed psychos. Thanks for the comments on the lord as well. I’m really happy with how he’s turned out. :tu:

Kraut, thank you very much sir, I think the forehead is more to do with the picture than the actual model, the head is stock so all that’s been removed are the horns and replaced with Warp Talon claws (thank you for that idea btw) as for leaving him bare chested or not, I had the skarbrand armour plate on him right up until last night but after adding the trophies around his waist I just felt he was a bit too bulky looking, Ill try a couple of the other plates and see how I feel. I really like how he looks sans armour though. Although it means I need to add some straps for his shoulder Guard if I leave it off. :tu: I need to work out a few details for his base as well before he’s ready for paint.

Those terrain pieces look really cool! The paint job is fantastic. I remember getting them in the first starter set I ever got. They bring back so many memories!

Sockwithaticket, thanks buddy. I’ll have more updates on them soon :tu:

SystemSyn, thanks bud, I’ll bring them with me for our next game. I’m hoping to get some of the new killteam terrain as well and paint it up similar. These were painted in the style of the old 2nd edition card terrain that came with the starter box. :) Stop making me feel old :D

KDC, thanks buddy, that staining is all just washes. I sprayed the ruins black, dry brushed them with Astronomican Grey and the tan sections with Rakarth flesh and then just kept adding different brown/black and even green washes over them until I had the look I wanted. I was really proud of them at the time. I have a few more sets of these that will be added to some of the Knights bases. :tu:

Rednekkboss, always nice to hear again. :) Thank you and for a fairly low level character I’m glad he still has some presence to him.

Midnight Runner, thank you so much mate, I’ll hopefully have an update on Angron very soon. It’s just tidy up work on him at the moment as well as planning his base. :tu:

Hey man, great to come back to this thread after a while away from bolter. That Angron is so wicked, I love how meaty it looks and how the cables flow from his hunched muscular shoulders into the back of his head. The sword is going great too, I really like the detail in it. I feel like a lot of these massive swords look a bit wierd on the smaller minis like the custodian final fantasy gun sword thing... but you can really get away with it on these big detailed models.  I'm actually hoping that you and a few of the other Khorne experienced kit bashes will be able to lend your opinions and experienced vision to some stuff I'm going to be working on for christmas. i'm going to be converting my friends knight to be Khornate (which he knows about) and a secret more comedy conversion of Khorne lord in a wheelchair.  Anyway, I'll keep popping back for inspiration, this stuff is so awesome.

Hey thanks for the kind word, glad you like him. I’ve done a little more to him in the background but nothing really worthy of an update yet. I do have plans to get some work done tomorrow though so hopefully will have more to show soon.

As for advice/thoughts on your project I’d love to help as I imagine any of the other board members will be just as happy to pitch in. I have to say, the Lord in wheelchair has me intrigued ;)
