Yeah the gold is a bright but it was only a base coat. Hopefully i've toned it down sufficiently.



Time for my weekly update. I'm getting close to finishing Terminator 2 and the Champion.

Terminator 2. He seems to be turning out alright. I realised as soon as i started painting that he has a lot more gold than the other two... hopefully he isn't too over powering.

The Champion. Hopefully the nice head crest will make up for the fact he missed out on all the gold bling :P

And a side close up. The Golden armour piece on the side of his knee hasn't been washed yet. When its done the silver highlight won't look so thick. The robes, scrolls and book should really make the champion standout... once they're painted.

Do you mind if i ask what you used for the studs on the legs and where you got them from? They're just what i've been after for my Templar terminators.

The models and the painting are great btw, absolutely love them.

And a massive congratulations for the arrival of your little one :lol:

@ Brother Delacroix: I actually made the 'studs' with PVA glue. I painted red dots where i wanted the studs and then applied small dots of PVA. The glue naturally sits in the correct shape. Its easy to built the studs up with several layers of PVA to get the desired effect. A paint brush is probably the best tool for the job.
You can see another example of the studs on my Sorcerer, the first image of the thread.

Regarding the PVA studs: I'm glad you guys like the idea. Its cheap and easy :)

Very well done!

I can't decide wether to try some power armoured TS, Sisters of Silence or maybe some Custodes...

I say go with some PA TS.....Be cool to see your take on some pre-rubric T-Sons.....

Are you gonna come up with a way to do a pre-heresy Magnus as well? Would be a really cool (as if they weren't cool enough already) centerpiece for 'em...

Yeah i'm planning to use them as GK. To finish of the squad i need another halberd wielding terminator as well as a psycannon/autocannon terminator.
I've got a box of DE warriors so i might have a go at a Sister of Silence, i just wont have enough for a full squad.

Thanks mate. I'm waiting to see some more of you awesome WBs! I have though about doing a Pre-heresy Magnus but i think i'll probably do a regular captain first or maybe Ahriman. I'm not sure i'm up to doing a Primarch justice yet...

Thanks for the rest of the positive comments guys! I'm thinking i'll probably do HQ or power armoured unit next. I've got enough bitz for a couple of Sisters but if i make some they'll most likely just be test minis...

I love this thread. Makes me wanna ditch my pre heresy Alpha Legion and go straight for some red t-sons. =)
