Finished the Coryphaeus on Monday, and the Dark Apostle on Tuesday night, can't say they look anywhere near to your painting prowess but...*shrug*

 

I should have pics taken and posted up Wednesday some time.....

I thought i'd share some pics of my Emperor's Children allies... all two of them :D

The EC have always been my favourite Legion. So when i started work on my pre-heresy TS i was always going to add in some of the Emperor's own, the second Legion.

 

This bad boy is a test mini for the EC colour scheme. What do you think of the purple? Too dark? Too pale?

I bought this lad before the Contemptor was released. Now i just want a contemptor :wallbash: Anyway i'm fairly happy with how he has turned out so far, especially because i rarely paint vehicles/walkers. Hes going to get a back banner eventually. I plan on using the old WHFB Phoenix Guard banner.

I'm really not a fan of the EC (mainly due to the fact that they always end up bloody pink!!) but those look really sweet. I like that purple. Very effective. Looking forward to more and you have actually encouraged me to start work on my own minis again after a very lethargic couple of months.

The purple looks pretty dang good to me, man. Keep it as is. My only nitpick would be to drop the barrel of the 'Psycannon' a notch, it looks a bit too high.

I'm loving where this project is going, keep it up brother!

Thanks for all the great encouragement :D it really helps keep me motivated.

 

The pic of the EC marine i posted was a little 'washed out'. I took it at night, under a fluorescent light <_<

As you can see in the pic below the purple has a lot more Warlock Purple in it than the first pic shows. I hope you like the "real" purple... I think this pic has gone a bit far the other way ie. too bright.

I dont know if I like the purple. It seems to me that the dark parts are too dark.

Yeah i shadowed the purple with a watered down black... i hope you like the new pic.

Thanks mate. I agree that the barrel could be a little lower... but it would be a bit annoying to change now.

Still really like the purple really fits the regal feel of the legion. Can I bother you to ask how you achieve your gold?

 

Ps When you gonna be working on Ahriman!? :ph34r:

 

I For the gold i started with a base of 'shining gold'. I then gave it a wash with 'devlan mud'. Next i highlighted it with a 70/30 mix of 'shining gold' and 'mithril silver'. I finished it of with pure mithril.

 

As for Ahriman, i'm working on a Librarian at the moment. I'm using a fine cast Calgar as the base. The problem i'm having is that GK librarians/grand masters wear terminator armour. Ahriman doesn't. So he might turn out to be a terminator armoured Ahriman :lol:

Excellent. I love the character of Ahriman but I'm not too enamoured about the current model. A TDA Clad sorceror can only be a good thing. Actually now that I think of it, I'm not fond of any of the main Chaos characters. Most of them have been hanging around since 2nd edition..........wanders away mumbling about updating Khârn in plastic..............

 

 

Ps thanks for the gold recipe. Ill try that next time I get the paints out. :ph34r:

A small update. I've been sick and/or OS in the last three weeks so i haven't had much of a chance to get any painting done.

 

The Emperor's Children 'dread is getting there. I just need to freehand some script on the scrolls and decide what to paint on the grieves.
