Thank you for the kind comments guys, very much appreciated. :)

I actually get very little oportunity to actually play these days. But that is kind of redundant anyway as there isn't anything in the BA codex that they could be proxied as.

I prefer to build/paint more for cool than for rule. So my bikes, speeders and these fighters are following along the lines of the Ravenwing. The Termies will be also be able to proxy Deathwing. While I intend my forces heart to be Blood Angel, I'll be able to field it (when I do get the chance to play) from the DA Codex or Vanila Codex as well as our own BA Codex.

Im in the same boat as you, too much work and school right now.  I go about my hobbying just like you!  I always go for cool and the off-meta units.  I should restart my WiP since I have been doing some painting recently finally completed a rhino, some tactical marines, some assault marines, and about finished with Mephiston!  I was really afraid I would mess him up, but I really like his result.  I will post soon!

A friend of mine who is getting out of the hobby gave me these two Contemptors. So I placed his armies chapter symbol on the knee caps of both as a thank you to him.

The banners and sculpted bases are hand made by myself though as normal.

Coments and Crits are welcome as always.

Howdy howdy.

After some feeedback on another thread, I looked again at the link between the 2 models, and have moved the upper chassis back by 5mm. I think it impreves the over all balance of the model. In the 1st 2 pics of this post, you will also notice I altered the direction of the steps on the base. When the ankles poped in to the feet sockets, it just seemed better going down the stair case than up. It should be noted at that point, the legs were pinned to the body, but not glued. And there is NO pinning or glue to the base. So it is balancing on its own. Also the intention was always to bulk the legs up a little. At the point I took the above pics, all I was bothered about was getting the basic leg geometry. In the pics below I have added a bit of armour and a couple extra details to help with that. On the last couple pics, I have added the armour and detail to tthe legs. I've also added the missle pods (with some slight modification) from the Missle Defense Platform from ForgeWorld.

As for what it is.. Just something I fancied doing. With the weapons I've gven it, the base size its mounted on and its hight off the table, it could still be passable as a Storm Talon. msn-wink.gif

Remove this Heresy most foul..... Oooooh Shiny whistlingW.gifwub.png

I really like it!!

Also i'd love to know how you painted those windows if you care to share!!

Cheers Bud :tu:

Yeah, its pretty simple actually. From a black undercoat I painted a single coat of Red Gore (not sure what the new one is). I only did a fairly thin coat so that is looks a lil uneven.

When that is dry, I used Troll Slayer Orange to paint on the strokes/shapes you can see using a detail brush. On the side and front windows, I do a few thin streaks nearer the top, and the reflection of cliffs/buildings/fire towards the lower parts. On the top windows I just do the thin streaks.

Then to finish it off, I give them a single wash of Gryphon Sepia.

I've had constructive critisism about the red on red before. But I like to imagine my BA are on a world similar to Baal. Red skies and a tortured dry lanscape. Hence the bases and the Red windscreens.

Hope this helps.
