The sounds of gunfire had long since faded, Orkoid corpses piled head-high in every direction. Brother Darnok Nowak walked through the debris of battle towards the hulking form of Venerable Brother Adelmo. "MOTIVE UNITS DISABLED. FIST CEASED UP." The booming, metallic voice of the interred hero rang over the comm-link. "I see that, Old Brother. But worry not. Soon you will be whole Again.". Brother Nowak advanced, servo-arm whirring into life, as he set to the task of restoring the stricken Dreadnought.

Subject identified as Techmarine Darnok Nowak. As a member of the Imperial Fists Armoury, the esteemed Brother has acces to highly specialised wargear, such as the Combi-Grav that he carries here, in addition to the traditional trappings of the brethren closest to the Mechanicum. Contrary to most inductees in the Machine-Cult, Brother Nowak has shown significant reluctance in giving up his organic form. The bionic replacement of his left leg only came about as a result of grievous injuries sustained during the Amelitian Pacification.

Once a Battle-Brother is elevated to the rank of Techmarine, and has completed his inductions on Mars, he is honoured with wearing the icons of the Machine-Cult prominently

A Servo-arm-array is as much a tool of the Techmarines vocation, as it is his badge of office.

Latest addition, first to bear my newly aquired Imperial Fist Shoulders from GW. Finecast that was actually completely fine, cast-wise? What is this trickery?!?!?

In the dim, red-lit interior of the Thunderhawk, Brother Sergeant Vergel Tarviz steadied himself as another series of eksplosions rocked the dropship. Numerals flashed before his eyes, superimposing themselves over the vis-link, counting off the seconds before the craft would arrive in the dropzone. "Enemy anti-air is intesifying, sergeant." The voice of Garmin, the pilot crackled over the comm-link. "Maintain course, Brother. The Captain will be expecting us. Let's not disappoint him". "Affirmative. ETA 45 seconds". Tarviz rose from his seat, the others following suit, as even more flakk caused the Thunderhawk to shudder and shake. The drop bay opened, and the howl of the wind penetrated even the audio-dampeners of the marines' auto-senses. Tarviz stepped into nothingness, plummeting towards the Orkoid position below like an avenging thunderbolt.

Pict-capture showing Squad Tarviz. As one of the 5th. Companys Assault Squads, the 7th. are expected to perform some of the most dangerous duties, namely as the vanguard of any assault, as well as deploying directly into the midst of enemy positions.

Tarviz carries a Power Mace and Combat Shield, a sure sign of his preference for engaging the enemy head-on and in close quarters. Although proficient with all manner of weaponry and gear, it was obvious even to Tarviz' instructors in the 10th. that it would be in the Assault Squads the fiery Necromundan would eventually obtain his full potential

As I said in my thread, I am a really big fan of the Fists you have here. I first started out with the Imperial Fists in 40k and was their biggest fan/devotee for several years until I took a decade-long hiatus. I never really got back the love for them, choosing to go with my own Sons of Tyr instead, but I am a huge sucker for the battered, dirty and above all pretty realistic yellow you've got going on here. Were I to start them again I'd definitely be wanting to emulate something like this.

I think my favourite thing is the freehanded Fist icon. Is this army finished now, or is there more to come?

Ah, apologies for my tardiness in replying, many thanks for all the kind words!

@BrotherCaptainArkhan: The army is very much still in progress, although I did take a bit of a detour recently:

I recently completed this kitbashed White Scar Sergeant, obviously surveying the Battlefield. I have had a fascination with the Sons of Jhagatai ever since I saw Paul Sawyers' White Scars in an old WD Battlereport, and with a certain amount of Yellow Fatigue setting in, I figured a change of pace would do wonders for my paint-mojo.

The crash of steel on ceramite rang in Captain Benares' ears as the Orkoid brought its heavy axe down again. With practiced ease, he deflected the blow off of his shield, and through the resulting shower of sparks, he lunged forwards, the first sweep removing the beasts' right leg, the second taking its head, before it had even reached the ground. Another brute launched itself at Benares, but he was faster, bringinghis shield up, and stepping into the Orkoids' charge, shunting the greenskin aside, before thrusting his blade into its spine.

The above image shows Brother-Captain Benares Thelonious late in the Sebranda Reclamation. Armed with Reinals'Judgement, and carrying the Resolute Bulwark, the Captain is well-equipped for the bitter close-quarter fighting involved in breaching the Morkhold, a major Orkoid fortress erected in the Junash foothills.

And I return to the yellow side...

@Deathspectresgt7: Hah, awesome. I'm considering more Scars though, it seems like the tables are turning...

@BrotherCaptainArkhan: Thanks, it was actually part of a project I've sort of started, which would revolve around Astartes heroes from the 3rd. Armageddon War...
