I must have missed a few updates in here, the Havocs look absolutely awesome, I think that's the first time I've seen your Dreadclaw completed too, love how it fits on to the base, I've been wrestling with the idea of basing my tanks and drop pods for a while and you're really swaying me towards it.

It was done as part of my Call of Chaos vow & my local Games Workshop store had a event around that time that the Dreadclaw needed to be finish for the diorama (among many other) painting comp during the day :D

 I think Nick's army was actually the thing that started me thinking about it, I remember seeing it in Warhammer World and liked how it tied the vehicles in to the rest of the army, I always end up deliberating between round or square bases for the tanks, I bought the square bases because the footprint fits a Rhino, but then I always wuss out.

Quick update

 

So finial getting around to adding weather powder to my Knight after Call of Chaos.  Just by the time Call of Chaos deadline was near, I was not able to varnish the Knight models due to the stormy weather & not wanting the dreaded frost effect back in December.  So hopeful get the finial layer weather powder & finial detail finish for both Knight models tomorrow late afternoon.

Also got the last two Battle Brother painted for this unit of Havocs as well.  Just gutted I was not able to get the models varnish today due to the weather been pretty bad (fog) & again not wanting to risk the dread frost effect on the models.

It been a little bit busy over the week there.  But mange to spend a bit of time today & start work building the Deflier.  I use to have one in my Iron Warriors force back in the original 13th Black Crusade world wide campaign just when the model was release.  Aim with this current version of my IW's, as well as bring cool new models.  It also to bring new updated version of old character that been a part of there history over the past 15 years.

There still a LOT happen to the Deflier.  I'm wanting to convert up a Iron Warrior carry shells & have a platforum that the back of the Deflier.  I'm waiting on some Ork part to arrive as well, some of those parts are from ether the Killer Kans or Deff dreads, so I want to use them to replace the front claw parts, just feel the Deflier claws are a bit dated now.  I'm also adding chains I've found from Age of Sigmar Chaos models & left over from Archaon.

 

Also Forgefiend almost there.  I just need to get the base all finish & may get him painted next week.  Which remind me I've still got my 2nd ed era Metal Chaos Dreadnought (yes another one) built, if I can get a spare 60mm base sorted tomorrow might get him painted next week instead.

I'm also having a look that what I want to add to my Iron Warriors this year.  Part of this & sort why Black Legion & the Marine side my Daemonkin sort on hold is - I'm waiting to see if Chaos Marines get any updated models this year?  But while wait & see, as it look like we are going to see a LOT happen 40k this year.

 

I'm going plan on adding

 

• Second unit of Rapier Artillery.  It just to pick up a few of the Thudd cannons from Forge World & just have another unit here.  Part this is due to a lot part been release since I built my first unit a few year ago.  I think with this one I might model the crew on separate base
• Get the Deflier above built over the next few weeks.  I just need to get the platforum from the Wyvren tank.
• Get the two Knight models finish tomorrow.
• Get new Sorcerer converted up who will be inspired by the Sorcerer from the Will of Iron comic I shown last month.
• Going to jump back to my Daemonkin, Daemon side finish.  I need to get the Skullcannon & another unit of Juggernaut & then a few soul grinder.
• Convert the new Cypher model.

But I'm also going to jump back to my Wolves from time to time (log already on here) try get what I can added to them.  Current got a new Vindicator tank waiting in a box to get built for them, as well as a Land Speeder to add to my Ravenwing :D

Update

 

Just get a quick post while I'm going though a ok phase, just like today pretty much spend recover as travel side & hope everything goes ok/anxiety take it toll.  So best part today been trying to get rid of a headache.

 

Anyway.  So during the weekend I went to my first campaign weekend event that Warhammer World - Boralis Schism campaign weekend.  Sum it up, Warhammer World event team always do a great job & the event are really great.  Also it that Warhammer World, best gaming venue & place all hobbiest should go to.

I've been really busy over the past few weeks with a lot going on.  But I'm on my holiday & now in my finial week.  However mange to keep with tradition.  When making my 1750pts army list, it seem Helbrute are not allowed Extra Armour in the current Codex Chaos.  Just somthing I've never really notice before.

 

So this just meant I had the points for that & a few point spare in the list in general.  So though I'd add a new Battle Brother to the recent unit of Havocs that where built after Christmas.  So he got built last weekend & painted last week.

I also spent time replace Lord Narach axe of blind fury with the new Iron Warrior relic - Siege breaker mace.  Useing the hammer from the Age of Sigmar Varanguard Knight set which was more suited to him.  Replace the cable on the arm to the Power Axe with cable from the Grey Knight Terminator arm.

Then the stuff I pick up for myself while I was that Warhammer World, just with the Forge World store been there.......... I joke with the staff how ever time I'm that Warhammer World, it really hard not to go into FW with out buy lot cool models even if you never plan it.

 

So this will be my second unit of Rapier Artillery, from Armour 13: Lost & the Damned.  All the blister have been open & all the resin models have been wash.  I've got Friday & Sunday set aside as days toward the hobby as there a back log of models I want to get built & undercaoted.  So they will be part of this as well.  Going to model the crew separate this time.

Our mission from the event, this photo was taken after day 1.  Each one was cool, they had set thing depending how your last game went & extra rules.  My round 4 oppent give me the mission for the Imperial side which is really cool so I can ether use them in games that my club or maybe try sort link games with a few friends do a mini campaign.

The box that all player go, icon where different depend what side you join.  I was the first Chaos player :D  So this included some dice which acted as faith point, allow you to make re-rolls during the game, the first mission & bit of background on why this was all happing.

Round 1, planet fall against Imperial Fist.  Was really suprise to get this really cool table.  This was the table I got a 3000pt game back in Sept during my birthday.  Warhammer World do a lot really great work on gaming table from standard to theme once like this & you can book them for your games.

 

As always, it remind me I need to get around & make my own gaming table as I'd like to try get more games.

Game 3, Saint.  This is where the Imperial side had to pick a character who became a Saint.  Chaos where to take them out.  If they where slay they became a object.

Round 4 against the Eldar.

 

It has been a while since I have fought Eldar.  This game reminded me why Eldar where a army I'd look forward to game against that events.  It just over the past few years that sort stopped, this was because the main Eldar list that was taken was Warp Spider spam which I hated & it was a shame as local it put off a lot of really great/fun Eldar player from useing there own armies.

 

So again was great to get a game against a really fun Eldar force & remind me why they where a army I'd always look forward game against that event.

Sounds like you had an awesome time!  I just want to say that your army looks really amazing, in group shots but especially in the picture during games.  Your Knight really stands out on the game vs the Guard and i just love the way it looks like it striding past the Guardsmen as if not caring about them LOL! 

 

Also, that Chaos box is really cool :O !!!

Looking back that the event, I only ever fire the Melta weapon the Knight Errant has once though out the whole event.  I just prefer Close combat, which all 4 out of 5 games saw.

Again a week on & still been a really great weekend.  Warhammer World do a really great work on there events & make it epic.  All hobbiest should go to Warhammer World & check out as it best gaming venue.

 

Yes I'm really like the box.  Just keeping the mission we got & the imperial side my round 4 oppent give me so I can use them that my local store & gaming club.

I've been looking forward to the third Gathering Storm book since it was annouce last month.  I've really like the push forward to the 40k background & looking forward seen where this is going to take us.  I'm only on page 24 right now.

I'm hopeful going to get both Rapier Artillery models painted tomorrow, been ill permitting. 

 

Also look like I'll be adding my 6th Predator sooner than later.  Mean I'll have my two squad thank to Traitor Hate/Legion complete.
I've also got to build a new Obliterator.  So hopeful get most of that lot bought tomorrow.

 

Also after reading the third Gathering Storm book, I've been looking that maybe starting a Red Corsair force.  But like the Black Legion & my Daemonkin, I'm sort of waiting to see what/if any new Chaos Marine models get release this year.  Just from seen the art work in recent Chaos Marines.

Love your event photos, your army looks really well (as do your opponents. Looks like you had a great time :tu: seeing them all together makes me want to get back into mine! Narach's new hammer/mace relic looks the business too. Can't beat a Chaos Termie Lord for coolness factor.

 

Liking Cypher too, he is the best out of the new triumvirate(sp?) you have given him a really gritty paint job.

As said before, Warhammer World event team put a lot of work & to me all the events I've been to are pretty much how I think Warhammer 40k should be done.  Everything allowed, but no one take stuff like Warp Spider Spam or Deathstar spam list.  Everyone there to just get a weekend of gaming & enjoy been that where the hobby all that.  As always it great seen all the cool display as well.

 

I really want to get to another event, but think be later in the year.  Warhammer World a really great place to go to & in my view, all hobbiest should try get there the least once.  It one of the best gaming venue I've been to & again just all the cool display offer so much idea.

Not quite sure who the fallen Chaos Marine will be base on?  I've aim for Black Legion, or maybe Word bearer to try not clash with the Templars I've added to the base though out my Iron Warriors collection.  Idea shown, while there allies there that lack of trust.  Just one my long term plans is to add to my Daemonkin/World Eater, Black Legion, Red Corsair.  Possible Night Lords, possible nurgle?  Try have them all tie with my Iron Warriors as part of a crusade force with the recent Gathering Storm & Black Crusade.  But a lot of this is rely on new models been release more than anything that the moment.

• Forgefiend got a while back.  That is sitting on the desk.  It just the base get done
• 2nd ed Metal Dreadnought on the desk as well & waiting on the base get done
• Still got my Plastic Helbrute I was going to convert with Autocannon, but part me wanting to try keep the model to one side for ETL.
• I should get my 6th Lascannon/Heavy Bolter predator by the weekend
• Part for another Obliterator arrive during this week & aim for the model paint next week
• Currently planning on converted up a Relic Predator, not quite sure what wargear I'm going for.  I might try get another one.  Make one the Ap3 Autocannon & try make it a bit more daemonic as I think I've got a few Zombie Dragon kits with left over parts.  Then maybe make another one the Plasma version as I think I've got the Plasma Cannon spare from the Lrman Russ kits when I built my Chaos Guards a few year ago.

So first all, my classic camera currently not working for the time been   So while it going to get fix, I've got a new camera to try out, so unsure how the photos will look until there posted.

 

But anyway - After chaotic week.  It good to get some more hobby done

 

A brand new Obliterator join the rank, thanks to Traitor Legion making the Obliterators into a troop chose.  Just since Oblits where brought into 40k during 3rd ed, they've been one of my favorite units, lot this inspired by my friend conversion for his Thousand Son's force back then.

One of the list I'd like to try in a few games is nothing but Obliterator, with my Lord & Terminators with there formation & then try out the Mayhem pack for the deep striking Helbrutes, as well as the one which allow you to take 5 helbrutes in a formation.

So he should be getting painted this week.

Then more work on the artillery.  Pretty much the third one near the bottom currently getting weather powder added before the crew are glue onto the base & Games Workshop water effected also added onto the base.  So hopeful get some time tomorrow try get that finish.

Then my mail order arrive for another Predator.  Allow me to field 2x squads of 3 Predators.  Then I'm looking that adding few more Predators but from Armour 13 Lost & the Damned for a few different weapon chose.

Also new White Dwarf arrive today (subscriber) which seem to say that the back for May issue about some new rules & to celebrate........

So last week Warhammer community & Warhammer TV where kind to preview some cool new models for the forth coming Death Guards release.  I'm really LOOKING forward to this release.  The Nurgle Marines, from what I've seen so far.  There everything I've wanted for the models.  There cool.

Pretty much I'm going to start my second Death Guard force.  I use to have a force back in 2006.  But since seen Maxime Pastourel Nurgle force in the White Dwarf/Vision as well as that the Warhammer 40k open day 2015, it has made me think of collecting them once more.

I'm not quite sure what I will be doing right now.  A lot of it waiting to see what the spure are like.

 

But right now my long term plan a Black Crusade force.  Pretty much give me chose ally & stand alone armies.  So it

 

• Iron Warriors, the main force.  With them are the Knights, Chaos Guards & Dark Mechanicus (I WILL finish them, going try this year).
• World Eater/Daemonkin.  Theme around the Warhammer World display on Angelus Prime.  A under strength warband seeking help.  Fought with my Iron Warriors during the Crusade, Heresy, Terra, Legion Wars, etc... had oath to help if the other need help
• Black Legion.  Always want to bring back my Black Legion.  Sent by Abaddon to make sure mission are done in his name.  There not trusted
• Red Corsair.  Because of Gathering Storm III, we don't really see that many Red Corsair armies & there a lot hobby wise.  Theme wise, there own goals & agenda.
• Nurgle/Death Guards.  Holy vision from Nurgle with all that going on.  This warband vision led them to link up with my Iron Warriors.
• Night Lords.  I'm about to re-read ADB Night Lord Novels, right now I've though of building a few killteam, like a unit of Biker.  But wouldn't mind adding a few other models.

But lot this is rely on new Chaos Marines models.

Yes.  So find a Khorne Icon, I use the one that was on the Khorne dice shaker from Age of Sigmar.  Cut the icon out on sponge.  Get some Abaddon Black onto something, like left over tub from the tuft grass with bit of water.  Then just make sure it all ok & stamp the icon onto the Rhino hatch.  Then just wash the sponge out after word.

 

​Just though it look cool on the Warhammer World display & as said my own Daemonkin/World Eater Warband are theme around that display, what left of the warband after that battle.

 

I'm just waiting for & hope for new plastic Berzerker or any Chaos Marine, that all that hold me back right now on the Marine side of that project.  But anything should happen, I'll try get some step by step photos as there no doubt be more Rhino going to be added.  In fact a few friends are going to Nottingham to see Warhammer World & I've ask them to pick me up some Nurgle doors, ready for there release.

Just need to add weather powder & that should be the whole squad finish.  But it going be a little while, it been a pretty chaotic past few months & it going be kept up until mid May.  But try get some time spare to get this done as I've mange to spare a hour during the week getting the two Knights & Daemonkin Rhino from Call of Chaos weather powder on Friday.

Then pick this lot up today.  Magnus the red since it feature Iron Warriors in the story :D  The Chaos Marines are going toward a whole new unit for Shadow War: Armageddon.

 

It wired.  I'm not keen on small point games.  However Kill team always been different for me.

 

Also after finish re-reading Storm of Iron few week ago.  I still rememeber Honsou second in command was sent with Chaos Guards to hunt down Hawk a lone surviving Imperial Guard from there originally scouting mission.

I think in the team, useing the PDF that on the Games Workshop web site.  I've got 3x Chaos Marines, one Champion, one standard & one Heavy weapon.  While rest of the team see 3x Cultist.  Then some diffrent wargear & equipment.  I'll hopeful pick up the box set next week so I can get a better look that the rules.

 

I might theme the models around a infiltrating unit I use to have in my Iron Warriors back in 2004 & first time I started to use some Kroot parts (bags, knife you see on some models currently).  Beyond that see the rule book to help toward idea for theme.

After finish re-reading Storm of Iron, gone back to re-reading ADB Night Lord serise.  As said one my plans now to start adding other Legions & Warband & forum a overall Black Crusade force.  It just waiting & see if we get any new Chaos Marine models this year, after seen the new Nurgle Marine.

Sadily never got the new Shadow War box game.  But I'm wanting the rule book to be release in store, prefer the book over digital for my games.

 

But after working a few list out, I think I've got one I want to go for & chose to pick up a box of Cadian for my Chaos Guards/Cultist.  There a campaign happening so I'm hoping to have this lot built next Monday.  Chaos Marines box set was from last week,

Just spent today building my 6th Predator.  So I've got two squad of 3 Predators.  This one will be the lead Predator in the second unit, while it mean nothing gaming wise, as said it down to look & theme that important to me.

They where bought from my local Games Workshop store.  I support my local store, the amount of help I've gotten over the years & the great community we have thank to my local store.  I use bit site if it for set parts say like few of the trophies.

 

It just I like scenic bases same time it maybe one of the most difficult things for me to get one I like when I start a new army.  With the Eversors Assassin been release, it just it help a lot, same with the other Assassin's.  If you've played the Space Marine game for the PS3, that been a big inspiration.  I got the collector ed of the game due to the art book & amount time that help toward this IW force :D

 

I'm going to try go back to my Predator today.  In a bit of a rush yesterday to undercoat the model.  I forgot to add the Knight trophies & add another trophy base on my friend DIY Marine chapter that use a lot of Mk3 models.  I'm also going to re-undercoat the MkIV Space Marine helmet & going to make that into a White Scar trophy.  Something I've not added to much, but White Scars where a force I use to game against a LOT when I first started my Iron Warriors 2001.

There was a bit of a miss mould on the left side of the helmet.  So use scalpel cut away & add battle damage, I'm going add bit of battle damage to the Iron Warrior (left) shoulder pad.

Possible given the Autocannon IW - Photo Visor & then I think I've got 40pts to spare which I'm not quite sure what I will do yet.  I'm waiting until I get my copy of the rules order next weekend.

​Then as the campaign goes on, seen you get 100pts after each game, start adding the Chaos Guards & give some wargear to my Iron Warriors.

​Flamer just something I've not use to often & though be pretty cool for this unit.  Theme & having models I think look cool way more important for me.

​Idea for the unit something long the line of Honsou.  When he led his warrior in the first part of Storm of Iron to take out Bunker, to set up marker for the Drop Pod assault.  Then later along with a warrior from Forrix company, would scout the fortification.  So wanting something like this for my unit.

​I'm really looking forward getting few games of Shadow War & get a few games during the campaign.  Seen the story of this unit grow & just add to there history.

 

I should have the Predator tank posted soon, spend today paint the model but didn't have the time to take photos when I got back home today.
