Ahrimanjjb Posted May 8, 2012 Author Share Posted May 8, 2012 Cheers for the comments guys, should have a few updates with yet another, and possibly final, colour scheme I've tried. @Wicced I have thought about what I'm going to be doing with that and came to the conclusion that as its not an aquila I shall let him bear it un-desecrated, maybe even write up some fluff for him to explain it. @LuNCHBiZZLe It depends honestly as I do the models slightly differently each time (not on purpose, I can't seem to remember what I did the last time) but they all essentially are boltgun metal washed heavily with asurmen blue, then repainted boltgun and highlighted mithril before inking blue again. Not sure what that is in the new paint collection but should be pretty similar. Then sometimes I ink it with black but it depends how blue you want it. @georgeapg Cheers dude and I don't think the dread is that much bigger than a normal one; the walls its on might add a bit of hight as might the exhaust vents but I think its mainly the angle. Had a buddy at a local game store use a blue steel color that I can't find anywhere and your technique is extremely close to the end result. been wanting to replicate the look for years on my IW. Just under a month to get this army finished for my event on the 14th and I still have several squads, vehicles and details to do. Not that I'm panicking. I've made some headway with my tactical squads (the one I failed to do for the ETL seeing as I was on holiday...) but shall post pictures of that once they're complete, for now here are some PIP of my Dreadnought: Helpless guardsmen reaching for a grenade which the Dreadnought's hubris or targeting matrix deemed unimportant Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
