Sepsis' Chaos Warbands (pg4 - update)

Sepsis the Unclean

Recommended Posts

Lately my mind has succumb to a calling... My 1st calling.... Papa Nurgle. I first ventured down this path back in 2008 but sold the Death Guard army. I have even sold the Plague Marines seen earlier in this thread.

However I always go back to my 1st filthy, disgusting love.

& here are my latest Plague Marines

Hopefully that has wet your appetite, though I will be back soon as I have Blight drones, Plaguebearers & a Plague Hulk currently at a WIP stage.

As always  C & C / questions are welcome, thanks for looking!!!

Excellent work, what's the armour recipe on the plagues?

Cheers for your kind words & my technique for the PM armour is :-

Black undercoat,

Airbrush with Castilian green,

Airbrush / highlight with Straken green,

Airbrush / highlight with nurgling green,

Dry brush / highlight with underhive ash,

FW orange rust stippled to make rusty bits,

Boltgun metal stippled over rusty bits,

& finally Agrax earthshade wash over everything.

Recipe is a lot simpler than it sounds as the airbrush really speeds things up.

You have really surpassed yourself with these guys! That Plague Hulk is immense!! They all look suitably grusome and wet (ahem). How did you do the guts/slime on the 'bearers? PVA glue? Gives them a proper 'urrrgh' factor.

....and @ the trophy on the Havoc, this means war *shakes fist*

Yeah, you think the trophy is cheeky, I am planning to make a traitor Flesh Eater for my Raptors... Muhahaha!!! For Khorne!

& back to answering your question, the guts on the PB are a tiny bit of Tamiya clear red mixed with UHU solvent... Perfect for open wounds. I got the tip off on this neat trick from Cretheus.

Time for an update!

Last weekend, I was fortunate enough to attend the UK Throne of Skulls at Warhammer world. This event gave me a good excuse to paint my Nurgle Lord.

Lord Sepsis 'the Unclean', leader of the 'Reapers'. A warband loyal to their Daemon Primarch. http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww325/chkj83/Mobile%20Uploads/1601111_732738936745589_1412385665_n.jpg

And whilst at T.O.S I got nominated for best army, with some excellent armies, :-)

Here are some pictures from the cabinets in all their disgusting glory:-

And Sepsis in action!

Very tasty. Love the EC bits you've done.

Thanks Forte, means a lot coming from yourself (excellent EC in your wip thread).

I have more plans for the Dark Prince's devotees, namely a Terminator Lord armed with a daemonic blade & more Daemonettes / noise marines to flesh the warband out. Oh & a FW Sonic dread!

Thanks for the kind words gents it means a lot!

Very nice indeed ! I especially like the colouration of your green against the lovely blue glue and darkened rust. Do you mind me asking which paints for the eyes/plasma, and did you airbrush the eyes / plasma please?

My blue OSL is indeed dry brushed, but only the surrounding area, around high spots where light is most prominent. The technique used is with the old citadel paints (not sure of their new names), the actual eye lense / vehicle light is blended and be sure to leave part of each stage evident.

1:1 regal blue / hawk turquoise

Pure hawk turquoise

1:1 hawk turquoise / bleached bone

Final highlight pure bleached bone

Hope that helps!

I have answered the call... And by the dark gods my traitor legions will be reinforced with Warsmith Manneus Drath, a Sorcerer, 10 Daemonettes, 6 Slaanesh CSM, a Sonic Dreadnought & a land raider. Quite a list to sink my teeth into, but one that will hopefully spare me on! As painting time has been limited lately.

However I have managed some time this year for....

Slaanesh Daemon Prince

And I also managed to paint up a couple of metal boxes for my Emperors Children

Cheers for looking, and I hope to display some progress on my call of chaos pledge real soon

Thanks for the kind comments gents.

For Kallozar, a couple more shots of my Nurgle Lord.

And for Castellan Cato a close up of one of my Renegade guard:

I'm hoping to revisit my renegade guard soon, as forge worlds 'war machines of the lost and the damned' book has given me so many ideas. Renegade artillery & mutant rabble anyone? Oh yes I look forward to painting those!

Great conversion on the Sorcerer - haven't seen one like that (may have to borrow him for my BL ;) )

Dread also rocks, excellently painted, you have really done such a great model justice.

That Land Raider especially however is WOW mate. Real gritty. Your Iron Warriors have that down to a tee and you translate their colour scheme well on to vehicles. With IA13, I look forward to more siege weaponry too :D

Impressive stuff thumbsup.gif

Thanks Midnight, that siege weaponry for my Iron Warriors is in the post as we speak. What can I say I have a massive forgeworld addiction! And my gritty, trench dwelling Iron Warriors are in need of some FW love.

And Rayray get those Nurgle worshippers off that shelf, no need to dust them off though....the grime just adds to their filthy Nurgle looks!
