This,
Is a challenge.

Can you assemble, base and paint a single, bog-standard Chaos Space Marine (e.g. from the Troops choice of the same name) by the end of next week? (Friday the 2nd of December)

If you can,
You will earn everlasting glory and honour here in the Chaos forums.


Note that it doesn't have to be Golden Demon standards, simple tabletop quality will do (minimum 3 different colours and some form of shading, highlights are optional but earns you extra)
You get to choose whatever chapter/legion/warband scheme, as long as it is Chaos - it is good. These are the only restrictions.


My advice,
No questions, no hesitation, grab a brush, some bits, glue, flock/sand/whatever, and go nuts.


Oh and please remember to have fun!

witchunter kraine - Is Lorgar's crozius gene coded to only hit Ultramarines? The only non cobalt warrior i can remember him attacking with it in TFH was Corax.

3 Colours (minimum), on a single marine, takes very little time, put on a mood-setter and rock on. :D

Don't worry, it won't go anywhere. I spent 42 days (had no rogue friends so I had to level one on the side), 4-5 hours a day on getting mine (over a year ago). After losing my sanity running Diremaul a bajillion times, waiting for the faire was the hard part.

I am totally up for this.

I just built a squad of Chaos Marines yesterday, I primed them this morning. Can I use a primed model or do I need a pic of a bare plastic marine to do this?

I am totally up for this.

I just built a squad of Chaos Marines yesterday, I primed them this morning. Can I use a primed model or do I need a pic of a bare plastic marine to do this?

I just primed my guy so I hope not :)

Can we equip our guy with a rocket launcher, or a meltagun, or whatever so long as it's legal for a regular Chaos Marine to wield it?

Aw man, I was going to paint my 2nd ed Ork boyz next week! Well, I'll put them away for that handsome face/tentacular madness of yours, Nihm.

I'm just going to stream of hought this post: what should I paint? I play a dark angels warband that's black, so that, and black legion are out... I have iron warriors and paint my thousand sons red, so no sons or word bearers. Maybe alpha legion? I could paint a red corsair in dark angels colours with the 'X' over his allegiances. Yeah, unless anyone gives me something better, that's it.

Just trying to get back into 40K after a long break, this sounds like a good way to shake off the cobwebs. I should have enough bits to cobble a marine of some sort together.

I'll get started tonight, as soon as I finish this HW set I'm working on. (Yes, it's Friday, and the day after Thanksgiving, and I'm doing homework anyway. Damn you engineering!)

I would totally paint some models up right now if I had ANY. I'm in the middle of making my Night Lord Demon Prince(The only Chaos worshipping model in my warband got PROMOTIONS!) and he's being built right now....well...drying, really. I still need those damned Necron head-bitz to show up so I can attach them to his waist on a chain, too...

I'll have him painted before the 2nd, Curze help me.

I need a couple of generic CSM in my Havoc squad so I can have people die before my Big Guns do, so for the challenge I'm making one of them:
