We all know that this law was created to disband nearly all military organisations controlled by the Ecclesiarchy, like the Frateris Templar. And that due to specific clause in the legislation the Adepta Sororitas were allowed to continue their work. What I want to know is why it didn't affect smaller groups, such as the Crusaders of the Cardinal Crimson? Also, any non-codex (C:GK or C:WH) info on the Crusaders would also be appreciated, to help me with a current project. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The Decree stated that the church could maintain "no men under arms" (with the sisters bypassing this due to the gender issue). It didn't say that independantly funded groups with a religious agenda couldn't continue to operate. I seem to remember this was brought up in the fluff text of the Battle Conclaves in the new White Dwarf Codex. You also have groups like the Redemptionists of Necromunda that are religious extremists that may contribute to a Holy Crusade if they're in the right area that would being to look suspiciously like men-under-arms but wouldn't be. No maintaining men under arms: Have an all-female army. No maintaining men under arms: Have someone else pay and supply them No maintaining men under arms: Have giant hordes of fanatics with no proper weapons. Something Wycked Posted December 12, 2011 Share Posted December 12, 2011 And you can put money on the fact that if the High Lords got one whiff of rebellion from the Ecclesiarchy, suddenly this violation of the Decree would be grounds for the High Lords to attempt to depose the religious leaders and take over the church- and then we have a new intra-Imperial war going on.
