My LPC 2012 Vow Topic

So I wanted to get all my Ravenwing Bikes and Attack Bikes done. What better way to motivate myself than setting a deadline.

I had all the Bikes already assembled and primed. Except for one Attack Bike. Which I finished a couple months back... yeah...

Even put it in my regular WIP topic

Oh well.

Getting the squad ready will take more time than usual since I want to start magnetizing.

2 of the regular Bikers will be able to carry special weapons like Meltas or Flamers

The Seargent will either be with is regular equipment, a power weapon, or a power fist.

And the Attack Bikes will be able to choose between Heavy Bolters and Multimeltas

I started painting at a friends house. She wanted to try painting too so I took some stuff for myself to paint.

Without further ado, my bikes:

Finished the 3 Bikes I started

I tried 2 different ways to paint the screens. One where I paint the whole screen green and highlight the edges and finish by washing with Green Ink.

With two of the other bikes I used the gradient one often uses with gems and washed it with green ink. Which one do you guys like better so I know which one I should refine.

  • 2 weeks later...

Has been a week since my last update and in the meantime I got a lot of stuff done. Namely, a package with magnet arrived. So yesterday I spent a good part of my day preparing to finish my vow.

First of, the stuff I already have painted. I finished all bikes. All that is missing are the Marines.

I also finished my Attack Bike, which was basicly done, but I wanted to have the weapon choices.

Next up, all Marines. As you can see, there are a total of 3 with magnets + 1 who is already in his Bike.

Here is a close up of the weapon options for the seargents and one of the guys wielding special weapons.

Another thing I built were the first Typhoon launchers for the Land Speeders I have (my now 4 in total, none of them finished)

I also removed the compartment doors from one of the speeders. On the inside I glued magnets and then glued them back on.

So now, I can run them as regular Landspeeders or attach the launchers.

Right now, everything for my vow is downstairs, drying from priming. Now I have to clean up my table, because there is hardly any room left on there.

I expect further updates next weeks.

Looking good B) Can't wait to see more paint on these chaps!

You ask and I shall deliver.

As of now, I have completed my vow.

I finished all 8 Bikes and 2 Attackbikes. 3 Bikes and the Seargent as well as the Attackbikes are magnetized.

But what are these voices of doubt I am hearing?

You want proof? Alas, then proof is what you shall receive!

This was fun. I want to get some stuff done, because I have way too much unpainted stuff to think about getting new models.

So having to work towards finishing these bikes, has been a huge step.

This LPC was fun and i think I will participate next year.

Great job! I love the cleanness of your painting style. It just looks natural, like that's armor a Space Marine would wear every day and take care of with great devotion.

I'm in the same boat on the unpainted models...keep crackin'!
