A forge world Thuddgun. I cut off the back plate, sawed down the wheel joint. After that under neither i glued two 2x2cm plastic squares to the bottom. 4cm long i think. glued 3 plastic rods (1.5cm round?)to each side. I think each rod was about 2cm long and then cut/bent and glued old gw tank tracks (chimera?) around them. After that i just added a peice of plastic card to the sides to help the over all effect look nicer, add armor plating, and to hide the track gear detail which i do not have time or materials to do in a even slightly decent capacity at the moment.. Final touch was a small piece of plastic card on the front to extend the armor plating lower. The over all time it took start to finish was about 2 hours sense it was mostly trial and error. Next one i build i will try and take photos for a step by step. I'm rather sure i'm not the only person that thinks the GW thundefire cannon is fugly.

Your not, its a definate improvement. Has the classic towed AT look to it, which i'm a fan of.

 

I view but anything I would have to say about what you got going id have to look at myself and say the same thing. "I wanna see finished product, your jumping around too much, blah!" Did you have any updates on the squads you have primed a page before? Im likeing the armor mix you have going, id try the same but I well low the number of bitz you have going to work with. I did pick up the new assault MKIV becuase they look pretty slick so we will see how that goes for me.

 

Thanks for the link back to that awesome World Eater Brother Sergeant Gothrax, Dargor makes me want to either paint a whole army of WE for myself or just cry that mine wont be near as good. On that note, my feedback is more pics of your already started squads. Death Guard in particular.

LOL ok noted. I got to get this ished and shipped to my brother in the next week or so, if i have a mental break down from painting gold, yellow and red in the nect few days i will work on white and green/blue. :blink:

I dont have much "new" to share but my brother received his titan with little damage. Mission accomplished.

My old Deliverers Space Marine army thats won and fought all over the south east US back in 3rd and 4th. Not all of the army but a great chunk of it.

Some lovely Pre-Heresy goodness here :tu:

 

Only piece of criticism I can come up with is the Warhounds 'eyes' look a bit flat when surrounded by that excellent colour scheme.

 

Good luck with getting into Armies on Parade :P

Holy hell!

I wish I had as many ForgeWorld kits as you.

Loving that World Eater marine.

 

LOL, You do fine enough without so i have seen. ;) I just got a lot more forgeworld last week too. Summer contract bonus's are good. Now that work is starting back up, I just got to find the time to put them all together and paint them. The rapier and predator Executioner both have read to use rules on the forgeworld site for free. I got three of each plus some other goodies. My last forgeworld buy for a very longtime. Hopefully that WE will have a squad to go with him soon enough. :)

 

Back to painting and assembly! :)

almost done assembling my tanks. Upgraded my Rhino's to mk1 got a FW whirlwind launcher, and the stars by far the heavy guns.

Im doing battle damage to them with plates welded over the damaged area's in some places. To make them seem more like spoils of the battlefield and converted to the cause. After all its possible to lube up a dreadnought and squeeze him into a drop pod. It is not possible to drop pod a predator or Rhino. To make them feel more rogue trader era im going to have little quotes wrote on them. "traitor Trash compactor, Plasma blaster Rex. Driving it like i stole it. Stuff like that. B)

Well im rather, no I am very Excited about the new Horus Heresy books coming out by Forge world and well..the rest you can see for yourself when my friend asked me to paint her nails again. :laugh:

Edit: has anyone noticed a little of a drop in FW quality. Seems the resin is a bit more warped and/or mold lines are getting worse.

Started working on this guy after putting him together earlier this week. The arms bellow the shoulder armor plate have been magnetized so i can swap out weapons and even the soon to be dead SoH i magnetized to the base for easy removal during painting and transportation. The base was done out of left over resin sprue, a chunk or two of left over 1cm thick plastic card a coating of rough sand, and then a coat of plaster of Paris to represent Ash and battlefield gunk everywhere. Its been given a wash of watered down abbadon black and scorched brown with some hardcoat and PVA glue to help it settle and flow over the PoP better. The purple is done. Im going to try and do some free hand on him with gold but I want to finish the rest of the metallic area's first. Last will come the Weathering and battle damage so he wont look this nice and shiny after im done with him and will help darken the purple up a bit too which i like. After all 40k is Gothic. :)
