Ureel's SoB army

Here's a group shot of the Sisters of Battle army I'll be taking to a tournament next week in Belgium. :)

From left to right:

Above: 2 exorcists, 10 strong retributor unit (4HB's), 2 SoB squads in rhino's, 10 strong dominion squad in rhino

Under: Uriah Jacobus + battle conclave in a rhino, canoness and a 16 strong SoB squad, 5 seraphim

The blue/red quartered rhino's are borrowed from my marine force... I don't want to paint up 4 or 5 rhino's for my SoB and another 4 rhino's for my marines. :D

Hopefully it will be a fun tournament and I'll be able to win some battles.. B)

Not bad. ^^

Are you using Repentia as DCAs? :jaw:

I don't recognise those Crusader models... can we get some close-ups?

What kind of heat are your Sisters squads and Dominions packing?

Should have included some close-ups in the first post... :)

Those are indeed repentia. I didn't have any DCA models and since the repentia aren't usefull in the current rules. :)

The crusaders are converted grey knights:

Uriah is also a conversion:

And some regular sisters:

And for the weapon loadouts:

troops: hvy flamer & meltagun

troops: 2 meltaguns

dominions: 2 meltaguns & 2 flamers

seraphim: 2 hand flamers

I disagree on Repentia - Spirit of the Martyr makes them very useful compared to how they used to be. Terminators and Dreadnoughts beware when a Repentia squad is in the area. Yes, they need an HQ to join them, but that's not really such an issue when we have Jacobus to toss in there and boost any who survive to make their real attacks.

I'm still not impressed. 1A (50% misses already on the to hit) and you can't even be sure that you will make the roll of faith.

With a battle conclave you have 100% guarantee of ultra killyness :D Also jacobus special ability of giving a unit FnP is lost on a squad of repentia..

Repentia would need either a point reduction or at least a decent armour save.

But this is all way off topic

True. Your crusaders are tres awesome. I tried to make a couple out of a Dark Angel Veteran kit, but they just look so huge next to my Inquisitor girl that it's a greek comedy.

I've tried (and managed I think :P ) to make them look less bulky by not adding the shoulderpads and the back pack.

I think it works very well. You don't have any Marine units in your force to confuse the issue, so I see no counts-as conflicts, as well as the Tomb Kings bits there for a stylistic difference on top of the visual one. I might file the idea away for my own use later.

EDIT: Also, good luck in your tournament!

Thanks!

I had considered using cadians for the bodies, but the grey knight box had so many extras I decide to buy one of those.

Cadians would have beena better fit for the flak armour they are supposed to be wearing... But the grey knight box has the added inquisitional icons & stuff, more then enough powerweapons to make the unit. Also I only need 5 crusaders max, so the extra cadians you get in a box didn't really matter.

Also now I have some very, very cool extra bits to use with my SM army. (extra powerweapons, hands, heads both bare and the knight helmets, ... :)

I have one Crusader I made from a Dark Angel model. I cut off the back pack mount and with a little filing it blends in to the robes nicely. My biggest problem was with the shoulders. The normal pauldrons were of course way to big. I tried to make sleeves with greenstuff but my modeling ability is not the greatest. I still have that model and two other regular Crusadors, but I now use Sisters of Sigmar models with some large shields from Fantasy Battle bits.

If I ever get around to working on them, I want to convert an Inqusitor to be my new Jacobus and I will back to a girls-only army again :)

I painted them like the sister on the cover of the Witchhunter Codex. In the past I also wrote some fluff, but I have lost it when switching computers a few years back.

My entire SoB army in their display cabinet (along with my old lizardmen)

And a picture of a 1k force taking on some space marines.

Holy Throne of Terra! I can't believe I didn't notice that before, and to think I spent so much time looking at the front cover of our former codex thinking "that's a really good colour scheme"! :P

Nice pictures you have, you can't beat the look of a couple of painted armies having at it on the table top. Even more so when they're so well painted!
