Necron Wave 2 and some more FineCast SM releases

I can see myself getting a few of those kits to convert into Chaos gribblies.

Wow, I'm loving those new Necrons.
I can see myself getting a few of those kits to convert into Chaos gribblies.
Agreed. If the new Chaos codex has daemon engines, that Stalker seems like a prime candidate to use as a base. If not, I'm still tempted to make an alternate defiler.
Re: Finecast Thunderfire: I dunno. My experience with Finecast has been...not good. The metal cannon was already junk, I can't see Finecast being anything more than lighter, easier carved junk.

Nah, it's not that. That's three whole bikes + riders for 45 bucks. This is three parts for 10 bucks. It's probably just the metal parts for that pack converted into FineCast and then they'll either expect you to buy bikes separately or a new solely plastic bike squad.I suspect the marine bike squad pack is this http://www.games-wor...dId=prod1060097 as it's still got metal bits in.

Iron Hands upgrade pack in Finecast?
Awesome.
I have the metal ones already, time for another set
Huzzah! I don't play Iron hands, but have wanted that upgrade kit for ages, and refused to spend 40+ dollars on it.

Finecast Thunderfire Cannon?
About time, thank you GW! I'll be grabbing one, maybe two when the time comes.
Hmm, following my recent experience with the Finecast vanguard veterans (bought one, returned it, then returned the replacement and promtly gave up) the thought of a thunderfire cannon in finecast fills me with a mix of dread and intrigue...
I've had some good experience with Finecast, only one bad model I'd say, and that was fine in the end. I had a Terminator Libby that had a slightly bent staff, so I replaced it with a GK TDA force sword, and used the head of the staff for a Cassius conversion. And then a Tyrant Guard who had a couple of wobbly talons, but I was cutting them off to put lash whips on anyway. So overall I'm quite looking forward to the Finecast model, hopefully I'll get luck again.

Now my Necron army can begin to become what I've been planning all along!!
Am I the only one who thinks its bizarre that the Necrons are constantly starved for Fast Attack slots pretty much no matter what?
Tomb Blades, Wraiths, and Scarabs are all full of awesome, and all of the are Fast Attack....
You could make almost an entirely robo bug army now!
Illuminor Szeras as HQ
3x Triarch Stalkers as Elites
Warriors for Troops
2x 5 Wraiths and a Scarab Swarm as Fast Attack
3 Spyders and 2x Tomb Stalkers as Heavy Support
Stupid Warriors not being awesome bugbots.
It would be fantastic to see that army fight Tyranids.
My poor wallet....
But yea, the only logic I see behind the missing DoomNight Scythe kit continues to be some sort of mass release of flyers.
It'll be summer time again real soon....
I can't figure out where Anrakyr went. Is there anywhere at all that he might logically be released???

I always thought the IH upgrade pack was good value, as you got a tactical squad plus the IH parts for little more than a regular tac squad. Maybe I'm wrong but that's how I remember buying them back in the day anyway.

No, you're right. I bought one last year, and it still came with a full tactical squad. I think it was about £8 more than a regular tactical squad. Not sure I'll be buying the finecast one, if it's £23 and just the bionic parts.

thought so. just checked my gw account and it was £25 in december 2010 compared to whatever a tactical squad cost then. (£20?)

My friend is a bit upset that there are still no flyers like the Doom Scythe for this necron army. Hes been waiting for a while for new things and after this little update hes tired of waiting and will probably sell his army :/
I on the other hand am a bit excited about the finecast LoTD. Always wanted a squad for my Salamanders but never cared for metal guys (have Vulkan and Chaplain Xavier in metal).

Indeed it did, but for those folks like myself who already own scads of tactical Marines, it was paying for something I'd never use, essentially making the cost of just the metal bitz $45.

Tell him to be a robot and live up to his Necron name.
We are patient and relentless death machines. The Doom/Night Scythe will get here eventually.
I've waited this entire edition for a Thuderfire Cannon that wasn't made of metal, and I'm still waiting on the Doom/Night Scythe, but you don't see me quitting like a noob.
People need to learn to be patient again, dammit.
I hate it when I have to sound old, but dang people these days want instant satisfaction for everything, when that's just not how things work.
The Necrons update JUST came out like 6 months ago. You know how long I had to wait to be able to use my Necron army again? Eight years.
How can you get into a hobby that requires the patience to hand build and paint a legion of tiny warriors and then not have the sense to chill out and wait for one of the very few models from your Codex that hasn't been released?
I had to wait 3 game editions until they finally released my gorram Drop Pods.
Tell him to go buy a breakfast sandwich and use his Ham & Cheese Doom Crescent as a proxy for a Doom Scythe.

oh realy ? I dont know if someone picks up GK , SW or IG he does . It is GW foult that they live in that strange imaginary world where people let you take what you want , play stuff like you want[and not how rules or codex tell you to] , because they are nice chaps . Well I told it JJ almost 16 years ago and I'll tell it now , people are not nice chaps . And no waiting 6 years and hoping that maybe the next dex is not going to be as bad as the last one is not a good thing to happen . not when there are other games out there[not just table top ] .I hate it when I have to sound old, but dang people these days want instant satisfaction for everything, when that's just not how things work.

That covers most if not all of the metal vanilla marines. A finecast Thunderfire Cannon should appease some.Noticable ommisions are the metal Dark Angels, possible to coincide with a new codex?
I'd been told a couple of months ago that they were going to get this done by May by a Blue Shirt but never really believed it to be honest. So many models on that list that I really want to get it's unbelievable and to top it all off LotD in Finecast! Really excited about all these releases, so many conversion opportunities if I wasn't so damn manly I'd be squealing like a little girl that has just met [Insert popular modern generic boyband here] in person!
