Laevantine Super-heavy Tank

Laevantine-pattern super heavy tanks are a rare breed. Each one is salvaged and crafted from an Imperial baneblade that has been destroyed in the line of duty against the forces of Chaos, recaptured, consecrated and gifted to a Holy Order of the Adepta Sororitas. They are as much shrine as weapon, each one blessed and sanctified, crewed by Sisters and honoured by saints.

The tanks were named after the Baneblade Laevantine, which was wounded in the defence of the shrine-world Lorus against the daemon hordes of the Masque. Its corpse provided cover for the Grey Knight Purifiers who held the last loyal city of the planet and refused to leave it to burn in Exterminatus our of gratitude for its loyal service even after death. The restored Laevantine was gifted to the Order of the Ebon Chalice as restitution for a certain incident.

I'm sorry but you've made a horrific misjudgement here.

The Inferno Gun is an incredibly potent titan level weapon and you think his tank should be able to carry 4 for 550 points? A Warhound can carry 2 (and no other weapons) at 750 points.

If you replace the Inferno Gun (18" range plus massive Hellstorm template of marine killing doom) with the Hellhound's Inferno Cannon from Codex: Imperial Guard, then I think you are possibly slightly over pointed but more reasonable (and could maybe compensate by increasing the size of the blast/range of the main gun?).

I also think the main turret weapon should get a primary weapon save, and the Tri-Melta could be co-axial.

Oops.

Actually, the table has a typo. It should be "Inferno gun in the turret", then the sponsons have "Inferno Cannons".

There's no point making the Tri-melta co-axial, since the Inferno Gun doesn't roll to hit. Good call on the primary weapon thing though. >>

That's certainly a lot more reasonable.

It's been a while since I looked at the Sisters' list (our player has stopped running them for now), but do vehicles tend to have an act of faith?

If so something along the lines of a flamer upgrade, where you can then fire your twin linked heavy flamers as flamestorm cannons that turn might be appropriate.

I'd also query the need for "Rough-Terrain Modification" since as a super heavy it can already re-roll failed terrain tests and then only loses 3" instead of being immobilised if it fails. Possibly replace this with a "Rolling Flame" rule or suchlike that allows the hull turret heavy flamers to fire at any model before a death or glory attack?

Vehicles don't have Acts, no, ehe. Probably to simplify the rules - does "weapon destroyed" count as a casualty? etc.

Rough-terrain Modification is.. I don't know. Oo I think I copied the table layout from another topic and looked at that and thought "that makes sense, I'll leave it there".

Rolling Flame... I like that. ^^

Something like...

Rolling Flame: Any enemy model attempting to make a Death or Glory attack against the Laevantine is hit by d3 S5 AP4 hits that ignore cover. If the model dies, it may not Death or Glory.

Looks good, I certainly wouldn't mind facing it. Overall I think it might even out slightly below a Baneblade due to the lack of anti tank at over 24", but a few test games should see where in the 400 - 500 point range it belongs.
