Painting/collecting Blood Gorgons

Recommended Posts

The Blood Gorgons warband in Zou's books are described both with armor "the colour of burnt umber" but also "Black and Carmine." I want to build a Blood Gorgons force, but I think I prefer a burnt umber-like color with hints of deep red. What's the best way to get that sort of look?

Something like this:

I have been thinking about that as well. And I decided, I would go for some blaizing orange covered in dark brown ink.

I believe it could make the impression on the books cover.

They're described as having lacquered armor in those colors on Lexicanum and on the 40k wiki, however the wiki also states the armor is like burnt umber at the very bottom. Also, page 8 of Blood Gorgons says "... each Traitor marine wore armor the colour of burnt umber." So I'm inclined to go with that color, plus I think it looks more interesting than black and red, which is so often seen on CSM figures.
