About a week to go :)

My kids have heavily hinted that it is time to change from the IG and T'au empire and come back to The Rock...

one of them bought me the DA cup and the other this:

I guess I will not be able to disappoint them ;)

Thanks guys :)

It feels like I have not really been away and there are still plenty of the 1st still in the painting queue ;)

Just finished gluing it together - :censored:  it's huge...

Clean up/gap-filling next week and then priming next weekend.

I am thinking about DA Green with stone angels rather than the black on the box artwork. Not completely convinced myself yet though...

Yeah I was a bit surprised by the black watcher robes on the box, were they always like that, could have swore they were bone or green at some point (goes to check all my codex's)

[edit] The illustration in the codex has the box one and a stone variant from what I saw.

Hi Elmo,

your WIP thread is a great inspiration and your Work looks amazing!

you probably posted it already, but ... 36 pages ...

Can you enlighten me on the paints used for the red weapons. I really like that they are not too bright.

And did you paint your bases or is it just sand, stones and grass? They look really good and complement the colours you used on the miniatures.

Greetings,

Fez

Thanks a lot. Very detailed and informative guide.

I was confuse by Voll- und Abtönfarbe at first, but I guess you are from Germany too :-)

I will start a Primaris DA Force soon and yours look really great. I hope the results will be at least somewhat close to yours.

Well I have achieved nothing on the Fortress due to a hectic week at work (late nights and stress so no interest in starting a new project). I am hoping that I can get the filling done next week along with some small ongoing projects in the painting corner.

On the other hand I have started to stock up for the coming years projects - there will be Land Raiders, Rhinos, Ravenwing and lots and lots of marines :)

Finally got round to making a start on the Fortress... The turret is magnetised on - simple job with 1 x 3mm and 1 x 4mm magnet - this will keep it attached better than the "just rest it on" GW method but will still allow it to be removed for transport.

Primed matt black, masked then base sprayed in Army Painter Angel Green.

Now on to the brush work :(

I May also glue it onto a base board but I will see how that goes... At the moment the tower, walkway and end redoubts are not glued together but I am not really planning on having to transport it around too much so having it in one unit would not be too much of a problem.
