Woops, double post...

I managed to complete that Chosen squad! I figured I should post up the pictures before I completely pass out.

The Chosen squad look great. I really like all the little touches such as the variety of colours you've used when painting the eyes on thier weapons such as the power Axe and Bolt pistol used by the Power fist model.

Your Hazard stipes are also well done and thier placement is top notch. I imagine the stipes on the lightining Claws were difficult to get right.

Cheers,

Mike.

Sorry for the... huge.... gap. I keep forgetting I didn't just come to Germany to paint miniatures!

Love your models, mind I ask what your color scheme is?

@Dutchwing: Everything's over black undercoat.

-Iron is GW Chainmail, or the new equivalent,

-Gold is basecoat of 50/50 Shining gold and Scorched Brown highlighted with Shining Gold,

-Flesh is Cadian Fleshtone,

-Yellow is Averland Sunset basecoat and Sunburst Yellow highlight,

-Red is Machrite Red with 50/50 Machrite and Blood Red highlight,

-Cloth and bone are built from Scorched Brown to Snakebite Leather and Bleached Bone respectively,

-The black cloth on the Cultists is lightly drybrushed with a dark grey that I mix up how I like,

-Then everything is washed once with Devlan Mud.

-Details are just simple gem techniques or some lighting and glazing.

I finished the last three combat cultists, including the Champion. Here they are:

Sorry it's not much for such a long wait... don't have much variation of stuff to paint, and my Sallies have been getting the attention lately. Mind you, those new Raptors are mighty fine....

Till next time,

Got myself some goodies the other day :P

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_2842.jpg

Unfortunately, I'm not able to build all of the Raptors till I'm back in Australia, because I wanna kitbash some normal CSM bits into it so I have plenty of those awesome pieces from the Raptor kit for mad conversions later.

In the meantime, I've based the remaining cultists (finally), as well as primed the Aspiring Champion and painted the Raptor Champion.

That's all for now folks, hope you enjoyed! C&C welcome!

The Aspiring Champion is complete! Such a beautiful model, I'm not sure the IW scheme does do it justice.

Anyway, tell me what you think:

Next up, gonna try and make a start on the second cultist unit. Till then!

Hmm, awful quiet around here... Hopefully this fella bring some interest:

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_2990.jpg

This is the start of my first Chaos Terminator, converted from a DV Death Wing Terminator. It's the first time I've tried this kind of green-stuffing, and I think it's working pretty well. Unfortunately it takes forever to do because I have to wait for every piece I do to dry before I can do the next, I always end up smudging it with my thumb otherwise.

I'm really stuck on what to do with the wing and the rope. I don't know whether to leave or change them. What do you guys think?

I also finished the shooty cultists:

More stuff on the way, see you guys soon!

Nice work on the Termie conversion so far. The GS may be a pain to sculpt and time-consuming but your results are looking more than worth the time. :P

I'd say that the wing really needs to go though as it looks pretty outta place.

Really like all the Hazard stripes on the cultists!

Nice work on the paintjob. Your GS work seems decent- if You want to work faster just keep the tips of your finger wet with water- even if you happen to touch anything it'll stay smooth. I think the wing could stay on there if you chipped it a lot and threw some chains on it- that way it would look like a trophy. The ropes are what stand out for me- maybe stick some body parts on them in a way that would make a kind of trophy necklace? Or just put a skull on the rope end near the groin?

It's been a while, but I've been quite productive in that time. I've got some new models ready for induction into the iron legion.

Here's the rest of the Raptor squad built. I left the jump packs off for painting, but they all look pretty much the same.

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_2998.jpg

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_2999.jpg

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_3000.jpg

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_3001.jpg

I mixed their parts with some normal CSM bits, I'm trying to save them for future models.

Next up is the almost-finished Terminator conversion:

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_3014.jpg

I've also made changes to the DV Librarian, and now he serves as the head Sorcerer of my yet-to-be-built Warsmith:

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_3016.jpg

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_3017.jpg

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_3018.jpg

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_3019.jpg

I tried to do a kinda Sevrin Loth thing on his right greave, like a little engraved rune. Hopefully it'll look better with some paint.

Anyway, not much painting, but I hope it's still interesting enough for you guys. C&C welcome as always.

Alright, so I've made a start on the next Termie. Really in a bit of a building and converting frenzy at the moment!

Hope you guys like it!

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx225/Loken48/IMG_3021.jpg

As you can see, I'm going for the pre-heresy style, a bit like the new Cataphract models from Forge World. I'm hoping my cheap cardboard method will work out :P

C&C welcome as always!

Yes I would hope it works too, would make an impressive model. Your guys are multiplying by the week it seems, can't wait to see cultists playing on the battlefield and turning into cannonfodder by the guns of your enemy, at least your astartes will be fine ^_^. Great work as always hope to see an update soon

The progress on the Tactical Dreadnaught armour increases (who would've thought?)!

Still need to do something for the power fist, but then he'll be done!

Tell me what you think, like or dislike.
