Flying with style - Eagles Eternal Thunderhawk Gunship

Recommended Posts

They do look nice with the clean look.

I tried to find those paints in my local gaming store, but I realise that there not games workshop line now. What does vmc stand for?

You're the man, so if you want them clean they'll be clean ;)

And as Thunder_god says Vallejo's model color range is usually shortened VMC :D And are along with their model air (aribrush colors) some of the best acrylics available imo.

VMC= Vallejo Model Color. Best acrylic figure paints that have been made...

Hope this helps. Love the chapter by the way.

Yeah the chapter is great, so thumbs up to war angel for letting me paint some birds for his cool chapter :P

nothing shows you are a fan more than a huge thunderhawk looming overall other models.

the talons are great, looking forward to seeing them escorting the thunderhawk!

Yeah it really is a serious kit, hopefully I'll be able to get the interior and the blue exterior colour done on the T-hawk tomorrow and take a progress pic alongside the talons ;)

It's a tough call, to go for the polished and well cared for look, or the slightly used and weathered look. I'll give you creative license, if you want to do some weathering im fine with it.

They look so good I may get another wing somewhere down the future. I can't wait to see the hawk or the chapter badge

I see you have a fair number of gaps left in the finished build, the only major one I've got left is between the nose section and upper hull (also present in yours, though it appears even larger in yours?) You know, it actually makes me pretty sad that there is some consistency in where the gaps are, implies the kit just doesn't go together well.

On the other hand, the paint job is rather cool! well done!

Yeah sadly it lacks a lot design wise, believe it or no I actually added more than a milimetre of putty on both of the connecting surfaces on the cockpit to make it fit just a little, and still there's a gap... It also took more than 10 litres of boiling water to straighten it out which was insanely time consuming.

I really hope GW make a plastic version of this instead, as it would be a much better material for such a big flyer, and I'd actually like to have one if they did :)

And I'm glad you like the paintjob :)

War Angel@ I'll look forward to seeing those troops alongside eagle 1 when you get it :)
