Quite the smorgasbord of bits for May's workload:

12M Challenge - May

I, Reclusiarch Jolemai , embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of May pledge to complete 1x Space Marine bike, 1x Tactical Marine, 1x Terminator, 1x Contemptor arm, 1x Predator autocannon to the defence of the Imperial Faction by month's end.

To do:
~ Bike needs stripping further, new armament, re-basing, fixing, painting to full

~ Terminator needs re-basing, painting to full

~ Tactical needs re-positioning, painting to full

~ Contemptor arm needs a magent, painting to full

~ Autocannon needs painting

The weapon options are obvious but the others...

  • The bike was originally blue and is at least 23 years old. Just needs sorting out and I don't have a chainsword bullet catcher wielding bike yet. Just need to get it off the backlog.
  • The ancient Terminator is the same but when I acquired it over 20 years ago it had no targetter :huh.: eventually I bought a RT-era power glove for it and it's been sat in my backlog ever since.
  • The Marine was a freebie that was amongst a pile of trashed scenery at my gaming group. It's not that much of a mess but should be salvageable with the correct arms and re-positioning.

Scout Sergeant/10th Company Lieutenant

My entry for the Loch-down Painting Challenge is a BA version of Telion who I will use either as a Scout Sergeant or a Lieutenant for my Scout themed list:

"I, Jolemai, Reclusiarch of the Blood Angels sub-forum, vow to complete 1 x Scout Sergeant/10th Company Lieutenant for the Glory of the Blood Angels sub-forum on or by the 15th of August 2020, or bare the Badge of Shame until year's end"

I got hold of the metal version. His Us were easy enough to shave off and I've got the resin head from the FW BA set.

The edge highlighting is simply Hawk Turquoise on black.

The blue cone in the middle is done Enchanted Blue -> Nuln Oil -> Teclis Blue edges -> Lothern Blue tip. If it was a larger surface (like a power sword), I'd make a gradient with Lahmium Medium.

Thanks! I think the modern equivalent (ha!) is Temple Guard Blue. Useful tool for the arsenal!

5/11 models completed:

TDA Librarian and C.A.T being pushed to completion next. I remember saying how these Terminators were a joy to paint but from doing the detail work I can see why people don't like the BA Tactical box for painting bling - it was a bit of slog towards the end. Glad I was patient and I'm happy with Lorenzo's robes, face, and the purple blood drops (which is a first for me). Power sword blending and the Crux Imperialis work is improving too (there are other bits I like too) :)

The Terminator Librarian looks most promising. I appreciate the fact you lowered his shoulder joints, so he doesn't share the "deformed dwarf with arms growing out his ears" look common to Games Workshop's models.

Thanks, but I haven't altered the arms. Guess some Terminators are hit and miss.

Looks great, always a fan of variant specialist schemes!

I do all my librarians (and Priests) in this "inverse" scheme. Someone asked me about it the other day and I couldn't remember why. Maybe I didn't want it looking like an Ultramarine when I was younger.
