Bunta Posted November 24, 2013 Author Share Posted November 24, 2013 After a solid days work in and around watching the cricket I managed to get this sucker to light up! I planned to cut out all the little screens and cover them in plastic, wash it with green and run an LED behind it to make the screens light up, but I was so sick of soldering, might do it some other time! But anyway with a little cutting I managed to give the raider head lights and a bit of interior lighting, let me know what you think! Yeah I went for a light green (not the neon style green) inside to make it look as though the light inside was coming from the many screens. elmo Posted November 25, 2013 Share Posted November 25, 2013 I remember back in the 90s I had a model of DS9 space station and that used fibre optic cables from a central light source to show portholes etc. The same idea could be used for some of the smaller lamps/instrumentation. My original plan involved fiber optics to the small lights alongside the headlights and the other small cluster of lights/lenses at the front but I couldn't think of a way of making it fit neatly. I finished off by snapping the thread of the tip off in the gun. Sigh. I love the results but hate the infernal device with a passion. DR Roger that, I think so too, the only person who has seen it is my girlfriend and she thinks it looks fine but she doesnt know what the DA feel is all about. Back to the drawing board! Finally finished my Crusader, I had a few more graphics to add to the upper surface of the tank but I have spent the holiday break driving my mum back and forth between her home and the hospital so I didnt get the time, perhaps in a week or two I will be able to get them done! The Land Raider looks great, really like all the details you've worked into it. I'll be honest, I'm still not sure about the wings on the angel icon, they still look a little BA-ish to me, but everything else looks great. Really digging the LED effects, awesome work! Bunta Posted April 4, 2014 Author Share Posted April 4, 2014 Hello everyone after a little break I have been doing some more painting, I have done up some Deathwing Knights after wanting them for a year, but I am yet to get any pictures of those, but I have also started work on a command squad to carry banners for me, I have had this guy lying around for a few years and I really enjoyed painting him up! He will be the 'leader' of the command squad and from a fluff point of view I view him as second in charge for the company. Anyway I would be happy to hear any comments you guys have, I feel like over the last 18 months since I started back in the hoppy my painthing has some what improved but am always after tips to keep getting better!
