2013 Winter's Advance

This is as far as I have gotten on my last day off work so there wont be much more progress for a week or two before my next few days off work, need to do the cockpit details, the marines needs priming and painting, then the whole thing needs weathering, i was going to stick some wolfy trophies but thought these are craft that come under alot of heat when re entering the atmosphere so surely pelts would be burned off, Need to add some lascannons to the wings for more fire power.

  • 2 weeks later...

While the B&C was down I started working on my vow,The first WiP pic is dark but thats because I only had darker colors on the mini.

Oh man.. The finecast was horrid. Bubbles everywhere, axe handle so bent I had to re-pin it, the wolf's head was shifted slightly which caused a huge seam across its jaw, and 40% of the gold trim on the armor was either missing or deformed.

Thanks for the complement!

The finescasts can be horrid, my Arjacs handle was bent, but otherwise fine.

Here is my finished vow, I will not do any more painting on the models.

Hope that is enough to for completing my vow. I might be able to get hold of darker pictures, my photographer had bought a new flash/lamp/thingyjaming so they became a bit bright.

Not much to report except that I've (mostly) basecoated the single mini I've vowed:

Space Wolf Termi Librarian with Aegis hood front:

Side left:

Side right:

I was given what was left of a can of Citadel white undercoat spray from someone I know. There was just enough to get most of it done. Will still have to give the mini a light coat of white (albeit the new white than the old...)

Hopefully I'll stop procrastinating and paint him in the next day or so happy.pngI intend to paint him in "Old school grey" than the Space Wolf blue grey.

I doubt I'll actually use him in gaming, so he'll stay on his current base.

Time for an update from me.

I'm about two thirds through my vow. The LRR has had it's grey base coat applied while the Rhino and Vindi just need to have the weathering on them finished off. I'm waiting on my order of mud coloured pigments to arrive before I can do that, so while I wait I'm going to be working on getting the LRR up to the same place.

And here are some pictures of the Rhino and Vindi, sorry for the poor quality.

Brief WIP update on my Long Fangs Packs. Not really much progress, but I'm finally getting to work on them, which is something, after all.

Max, what arms have you use for the metal long fangs missiles launchers? (left ones, of course)

Thank you!

Presenting my first Space Wolf mini in over twenty years!

Not only that, it's the first time I've tried "glowing runes" or OSL as well. I'm happy with the result although compared to those others I've seen out there, I know I have some way to go laugh.png But now that I have an idea how to do it, I know eventually I'll get to a higher standard.

Kudos must go to FF151 whose tutorial I followed (broadly) in painting that effect happy.png I had to mix a few paints (mainly an equivalent Hawk Turquoise as I didn't have it or the new version), but I think I did well enough happy.png I know about the massive mould line at the top. I forgot about it until I started painting and it was then too late to do anything about it  Oh well

My Vow is now complete happy.png

Thank you for having me! happy.png
