I recently read a great tutorial for a new black armor painting technique. I REALLY hate painting grey highlights on black armor. I typically base in Chaos Black, do details, do another coat of black, and highlight. I suck at it and I hate the results. Im now going for primer, gray base, heavy coats of Nuln Oil, and varying shades of gray drybrush for armor. Who do you think I got that idea from? :P I think it puts emphasis on the Chaplain skull aspect. When he is cleaned up Im getting a good close up for my avatar. Check him out then! When I feel I need to go buy more, I can sometimes (not always) go to the closet and open boxes. When it works, it's like Christmas! When it doesn't work, I sigh and go to the game store anyway. Keep up the good work. Also, you may have convinced me that the flying brick called a stormraven will actually look pretty decent in black. Giarc Posted February 21, 2013 Share Posted February 21, 2013 That almost gives you better LoS, rather then the turret on the top side. I have heard of people haveing issues with the weapons. Not being able to fire, cause you cant shoot down at enough of a angle to kill things with the top turret, otherwise the barrels would be shooting the hull of the raven. Because as I mentioned earlier, while the hull itself looks much better with the CH kit, the thin tail just looks plain silly when the hull is fat. I would like to see the how much the chapter house kit changes the over model. Also, on your storm Talon. How did you do the side weapons? Magnets to switch them out? I have one right now I am building, and not sure how to get everything set up. 3 different combos, with the 2 different ML, and the HB/LC combo. Then i am going to try to magnitize the front portion so i can do both missile sets, and then something for the HB/Laz weapons.
