5 Man Deathwing Assault Terminators and 3 Ravenwing Bikes

Alrighty time to put thread up as vow is made. I vowed to paint 5 man Assault Terminator squad and 3 man ravenwing bike squad for 2013 L.P.C. Here are my squads:

You think you would have enough time in 3 months but noooooooo... I just finished up moving and in new apartment finding these and unpacking my paint equipment, still got time, I hope..

Just base coated Models today. One layer abandon black after for ravenwing after which they got layer of P3 Thamar black. Started some initial highlighting with Mechanicus standard grey and base for metals.

Terminators just have two thinned coats of zandri dust.

I am thinking of starting a death spectre army so seeing your raven-wing black armor is inspiring! I've seen black done poorly in the past and worried that it can come off looking dirty. But your look clean natural highlights. Nice job.

 

I'm also envious of how clean you got the bone on the terminators.

 

I love looking at the work of others for inspiration. Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much of your kind words Bro Castiel. Black is so hard color to make look like it has depth. I did mine following:

1) Light grey base coat

2) black primer.

3) Privateer Press P3 Thamar Black

4) Dry Brushed bit citadel mechanicus standard grey on edges.

5) 1 watered down citadel nuln oil shade

6) cleansed armor with P3 Thamar Black (the parts light not hitting straight leaving more exposed areas tad darker grey shade)

7 ) High lighted sharp edges of armor and bike with Citadel Dawn Stone
