Unfortunately when I paint the sand on it will go over the wing art and with it being white it will not stand out as much so I will repaint it in black.

 

I suppose if you took the green as an undercoat then it would be at the same stage as my Chimera which is waiting for the start of Sept so it may qualify :smile.:

 

Anyway, stoppit! Every time I try to start a new project you tell me to wait for the end of the month! I need to paint something or I will get mad(der) :P

And here is tonight's progress

 

The desert paint is done less shading and I have begun on the belly but it will take a few more coats to get even coverage.

 

Don't worry about the paint on the glass - it is masked :)

Liking how it's coming along. I'm now debating painting my Vendetta in Elysian colours, and using the Hairspray method to do a weathered effect with it showing through my colours on top. Keep us posted on your progress, as IIRC you mentioned going for a similar look. :)

It is a shame but it needs to blend into my new scheme so unfortunately it had to be done. :(

Are you going to repaint the older Aquilla wings back?

Don't worry, the wings will be back but they will be in black so as to stand out against the desert cam.

Once it is highlighted in Elysian Green (I use Vallejo Camouflage Green - Game colour 031) you really can't tell the difference :wink:

 

The only problem I have found is that it is not cheap! 100ml spray can at $7 list  :furious:

That being said I think it is worth it to get the finish. One can just about did these two models and I only use it on vehicles.

The low vis belly cam is now done and just waiting for the weathering as a final stage. The grey is actually 3 different shades but the camera phone has washed most of it together :furious:

Unfortunately I work away from home and  that is also where I paint so I will be taking a break from painting till Mon evening due to a family gathering. I am allowing myself to do some hobby related work over the weekend though - you know what I mean      nudge, nudge,wink, wink - say no more ;)

You can never have enough armour and I don't have any Hellhounds yet plus the deal was just too good to resist. :biggrin.:

 

I am not sure what to do with 2 Baneblades though... and I had better buy some more spray and sponges :wink:

 

Including what I already have in my Armoured vehicle painting queue that will give me 2 Baneblades, 7 Leman Russes, 2 Chimeras, 3 Hellhounds and a Wyvern which I think will take about a year to paint. 
 
At least I wont be bored.

I have been redoing the Aquilla on the wings and after some thought I went with Shadow grey rather than black and I think it works well. When I get around to the weathering it should tie it all together nicely.
