Rak's Plague Den (WIP Nurgle Models)

Recommended Posts

Rakarsis here, spreading the good word of Nurgle! Below are a few WIP models of mine. Will check back and update as I create/paint new models.

Feel free to ask questions or give feedback/improvement advice. This is my first army with conversion work, so I am still new at greenstuff sculpting, kitbashing, etc. Some of the models have a basic layer of paint and a wash, but still have a while to go... haven't gotten time to get into details, highlights, eyes/weapon glow, etc yet.

First up... Nurgle Bikes (hacked up DV dark angels bikes + Forgeworld Torsos + possessed/chaos bits):

dude.. amazing. you have got to share your colour guide for the plague marines...pleeeeaassseee

I used the airbrush techniques shown in the beginning of the following video... up to and including the step where you rub the paint with alcohol to fade it. The plague marine was the first model I ever painted with my airbrush, so he could probably be better, but luckily with Nurgle you get to be messy on purpose biggrin.png Colors used were either identical to the video or as similar as I had.

Few more...

Flying Daemon Prince of Nurgle with Black Mace

Might have to add some more pustules on the wing struts and have them disperse more and more as they get to the wing itself.... blend it out that way.

Heldrake #2, with forgefiend arms/legs + heldrake body + zombie dragon head/tail/wings

Forgefiend arms/legs look tenfold better than helturkey legs. I feel like he can really land and rip things apart now, as he should.

I need to break out that airbrush again... but so much to assemble and convert still!  In boxes I still have around 60 plaguebringers, 50 zombies, 40 cultists, 30 marines,  8 autocannon havocs, 7 bikes and biker lord, 5 renegade ogryns (spawn), 4 uniquely themed rhinos, 3 soulgrinders, 3 plague ogryns, 3 oblits, 2 blight drones, 4 heralds, bits to create 2 badass sorcerers, Mortarion conversion, terminators with combi-plas and scythes, 1 greater unclean one, 1 more heldrake, and a pustule in a pear tree. We will be in 7th edition before I am done with the greenstuff... not to mention several hundred custom cork bases.

I think I have an addiction.

This is a great thread, Rakarsis- your sculpting skills are nicely honed and your buboes, stretched skins and hoses look wonderful. I will be paying close attention to this thread; can't wait to see your conversions and your interpretation of Mortarion in particular!
