The vehicles in a Legion Artillery Squadron (your Mobile Seige Engine Battery is de facto a Legion Artillery Squadron) must belong to the same type. So, sadly, you cannot field 2 Basilisks and 1 Whirlwind. The unit entry says " Unit Composition: 1-3 tanks chosen from one of the following types etc). 

 

I'd like to discuss about the rest of the army but currently I'm plagued by a terrible flu and I can barely type on the keyboard.

As soon as I'll be "fully operational" I'll be more than glad to share my opinions on the armies. Ordo reductor army list from Betrayal is the first official AdeMech army so I'm very interested in it. ;)

Damn, I didn't notice that. >< Means reworking everything because of the points difference (was hoping for some sneaky Gryphon-like barrage accuracy there).

Don't worry Tech Adept ;)... I doubt it will invalidate your army's effectiveness.

Personally I'd go with two Basilisks or three Whirlwind and put the points in something else.

I'd choose the two basilisks: the rule for multiple barrage shots will translate the additional basilisk in more hits only against hordes. If you target is on a ruin's floor you will rarely gad the chance to hit more targets than your first blast marker would.

I'd suggest to give Calleb his retinue of servo-automata since his is not IC and he some ablative wound may keep your Warloard alive for longer.

I'd also prefer more Thallax than the count-as Techmarine units. Thallax are among the most powerful troop choices in the game (if there are more powerful troop choices I forgott feel free to correct me ;) )

The also came with a S7, rending and shred base weapon they can use with the famous (some player will call it infamous tongue.png ) Jump-Shoot-Jump tactic since they are Jet Pack infantry.

And consider we don't even started to mention all the upgrade they can take!

Truly amazing unit, in my opinion so I'd allocate more points to them and less on the Techmarines.

I've been seriously underestimating Thallaxii, thinking about it - and rereading their rules. The Lightning Gun is so strong you almost wonder why you'd want to swap it for a phase-plasma fusil!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to keep Lightning Gun is high regards ;)

 

Talking about your new list.

 

1. I strongly agree with your decision to put Caleb in a Land Raider since it will increase his survivability while giving you access to a quite customizable Land Raider. Keep in mind AdMech LR does not have the Assault Vehicle rule.

2. Equiping Caleb and retinue for CC is a good idea since its the only melee unit "pure" Ordo Reductor lists can field. You want your Thallax to shoot ;)

3.Icarian+ multi melta was the very idea I have so I strongly approve it ;)

4. I'm unsure about the second Land Raider. It will useful to create target saturation but I wonder if those points wouldn'd be useful for more Thallax.

 

5. What's your plan for the Explorator augury web? Scout is interesting but I can tell by persona experience scouting a single Land Raider is most of the times "useless" or "dangerous".

I explain. I used a unit of Rampagers as Angron's "retinue" a couple of times and I gave them the Land Raider dedicated transport in order to make rush to the enemy lines.

Everytime the redeployment was unecessary because if I used both it and the full movement I would have put the Land Raider in the middle of the enemy lines with nothing suppoerting it and unable to charge on the first turn. So every time the redoployment+movement distance was nearly equal to a full turn movement. Perhaps I gained the chance to fire one more weapon at full BS but consider if it worth the cost of the augury web.

Disrupting enemy reserves may be interesting but once more is it worth its cost?

I was using the second land raider to carry the blast ordnance mostly, since it's not great as a transport for five jetpack infantry. heh.

 

Not being an assault vehicle makes the frag assault launchers kind of pointless, and since it can take them, I'm wondering if that's an errata issue (like the lack of Blessed Autosimulacra being detailed anywhere).

What do you mean with "carry the blast ordnance"? Do you mean you want it to "protect/escorts" your basilisks?
