WIP The Narborough Crusade (including SRC Elijah)

Titan 1975

er, I kinda have two in mind - 1st on a gaming level similar to Helbrecht's Nimbosa Chapter keep illustrated within our codex.

2ndly a 'keep' for my chapter - Templar storage complete with heraldry and facias, this will be built either freestanding like a normal cupboard with relief crafted into the sides and doors, or if I have to yield to the wife (and create a nursery (possibly very soon!)) will be built into the utility room cupboard and relief crafted on to the surrounding walls.

Oh my, the second one sounds intense. Although building a Templar keep into your house may raise the house's market value. It'd look great in the ad too.

"3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, 1 fully equipped Kitchen, 1 Black Templar Keep mounted in the cupboard, garden, etc...." laugh.png

Anyway, good luck with your plans, including the nursery ones. thumbsup.gif

Well, i'm a little ashamed at my absence, life seems to blur occasionally, but anyway here is a small update on my conversions
the Cathedral-Pattern Land raider Crusader for my terminator Chaplain and Assault terminator squad (I'm looking to add a house rule points valued upgrade to capacity 18 due to it's added bulk (does 20/30 points seem reasonable?))

and my latest piece of scenery conversion, a staging pad for my Storm Raven Crusader (Elijah)

Check out my galleries for the WiP process,

I hope to get back into things a bit more now, especially as my wife has just started a Celestial Lions army (winning!)

There's just something about a cathedral mounted on a tank that gets my zeal going! So imagine the effect that'd have on real Templars on the battlefield! Seriously, that's a great looking model.

Finish it as fast as you can! The Emperor Wills it! thumbsup.gif

@Andhil, I feel the same about the cathedral, I envisage when my Chaplain and his unit is embarked within, the chaplain will actually stand on the upper deck behind the multimelta gunner, declaring his litanies of hate and defying the enemies of the imperium.

As for 'finish it as fast as I can', I'm afraid speed painting is not my forte, in fact painting in general is slow and purposeful (and a long way from 'eavy metal)

but behold, inspired and encouraged by the enthusiastic compliments

Oh, man. I'm soooo jealous of that model......drool.gif

Great progress, slow and purposeful is alright, don't be hasty, and all that. wink.png Sometimes it's worth taking your time to do things.

That chapel is so cool I've got ice forming outside. I just love that thing. And please do take your time and do it right. I know how Andhil feels, but we are after all Templars and we don't do anything half baked.

This is just a thought, but considering the size of that thing, are you going to consider it a "counts as" Spartan? Seems like it would be quite justified.

I missed out on last years ETL due to missing the first deadline and not knowing much about how to post anything on any kind of forum (technologically challenged.com) and so was apprehensive about committing... also work obligations were a pain...but this year, may well be different, although the other worry for me is the only models I own fully finished are my first 1500 point army built in January 2011 and painted to GW tabletop standard (3 colours + base) in May 2011, since then technically nothing else has actually ever been finished :-(

No worries brother. We will be here to support you with whatever you decide. It can be a lot of fun and a good excuse to paint something extra. No pressure, only what you want to commit to, even if it's a single figure (e.g. HQ).

I'm just letting everyone know that it's getting close to the time where we will mount up. :)

I'm keen, and am encouraging my gaming group to join in with either joining their factions forum and taking part or spawning a group contest alongside me taking part, will be having a serious look at my figure pool tomorrow, (along with my wife's Celestial lion pool).

Your cathedral and flyer are absolutely stunning, very nicely done. The Elijah kind of reminds me of the South African ship in Elysium, very very cool.
