Zeal is it's own reward, repenting

Brothers I have finished priming and (mostly building) a Reaver which just needs to have a color pallet chosen (suggestions are welcome).

Also we gained a new Bio-Titan named Benny (Bam, Bam, destroyer of models).

I am really digging that Polux model ... hmmmm what could I use him as in a 40k BT army?

Anything HE wants to be. ;)

I'm a cat person, so two thumbs up from me for Bennie. Did he come with jets?

Regarding the Reaver, if it were mine, I would do it as Legio Gryphonicus. I just love that yellow with the grey spotted camo scheme.

He came with 2 gatteling blasters and 3 turbines and also two adorable kittens name Spekkal and Dotty.

Urge to paddle, rising...:furious:

I'm sure you and your paddle are consenting...um, objects, so what you're intending to do to yourself doesn't need to be shared.

However, don't mess with cats, especially if they are packing the shooting equivalents of a Fire Raptor. :P

So that you will have a chance to enjoy the journey.

Looking good so far.

How was the kit as far as construction goes?

Mixed feelings and results mostly, the engineering that went into it feels good, some points excellent even sans the carapace thats a pit of hell.

As with everything resin some parts needed love and boiling water, but almost every plate on the carapace arrived 'flat' so a lot of shaping/reshaping was needed, some parts like the turbo laser the internals didn't align proper because of a giant bulbous ball/drop of resin (what I assume was an accident on FW's part drunk casting ftw?)

Assembly went without much of a problem, granted the manual is worth jack :cuss, building older FW kits over the years helps prep you for this but not as much as one would expect.

Here are all the leg parts lined out, here it is fully built, p.s. here's a side shot of what to never do with this part of which you have no clue what it even is. GLHF. This has given me quite an insight as to why people build their first reaver generally so static the first time, the lower leg assembly simply is not designed to be all that dynamic, the pistons need a certain breathing space or else they will be in the way of the toes, the toe plates or the shin guard.

In short: it's a grand model and I do recommend everyone at least looking at how it's build once but at the same time I'd advice to find a nice youtube tutorial and just ignore the 3 sheets of paper they give you because they don't even come close to the basic warnings and information you need to NOT screw something up.

I really like the dirty yellow. On a model of this size, the less saturated color really makes it look less like a toy and more like a real weapon system standing at a distance.

Very, very nice.

BTW, did you see the painted Warlord in HoH?

You know, in case you need to raise the bar. ;)
