I was wondering if anyone could tell me where are the best local game stores and clubs around that area. Also are there any major tournaments held around there? My son and I were considering bringing a small army each and looking for a few 40K games in the Baltimore area between 25th June and 14th July. Can anyone recommend a shop or gaming club near Timonium? we used to visit the York Road GW shop but I am told its gone now. is there anywhere else close to there or a local gaming club. They have a broad spectrum of players from various gaming backgrounds but the 40k and fantasy community is growing strong. Dr_Keenbean Posted August 13, 2013 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Really close to Crofton (just south of it down RT301 in fact) in Bowie there's the GW Bowie Bunker. They generally have a lot of events going on as well as themed days. They even do specialist games stuff contrary to what you'd expect. Their Mordheim table is pretty awesome. Further north, but still south of Baltimore in Glen Burnie there's 2 FLGS: Games & Stuff and Dropzone Games. Dropzone is in the location of the old GW US HQ and is run by disenfranchised GW vets and is my store of choice. The selection at Dropzone is excellent and they're always getting new stuff in. There is also a ridiculous amount of gaming and hobby space. Every time I'm in the area I try to stop by Dropzone and give those guys some money. Our club is having a tournament on August 23rd at Drop Zone Games. 1850pts Tactical Objectives No Unbound Lords of War are "In" You need to be a member of the club to play. The club is semi-competitive, new player friendly, environment. But we're always looking for new casual players to join. Hope some of you can make it out. If you have not been to this shop, then shame on you. They have so much cool stuff on display it will blow your mind. They even have the Ultramarines train from the first Apocalypse book. Midgard Posted December 4, 2015 Share Posted December 4, 2015 So technically I am in Pennsylvania (Hanover), however, it is so close to the state border that I thought to post about it here as well (in case anyone in northern Carroll County - Manchester, Hampstead, etc. is reading). I would be interested in finding other players or a gaming group nearby to get an occasional casual game or two in once in a while. I am not a particularly competitive player, but have several small- to mid-size armies (Space Marines/Raven Guard, Dark Angels, Word Bearers, plus a plethora of Orks, Space Hulk/Deathstorm Tyranids and Blood Angels, and Betrayal at Calth Heresy-era Marines). Havent played there yet, but we are trying to get a Warhammer community set up there. Also, I run the warhammer arm of the Southern Maryland Gamers meetup group, running events out of my basement. I have three tables set up and we are currently in the midst of the Crusade of Fire campaign. If you ever feel like a game, hit me up! I've heard of Titan Games, but it isnt exactly "in the area" its a least 45 minutes to an hour away. Edit: Wow, didnt notice the OP was from 2013!
