Lib's back

That is a stupendous amount of very good looking Ravenwing! Great job! You must have some awesome focus and skill, because you have gotten through all those bikes in shorter time than I've gotten one done, and they look great too! And then all those Terminators!? Holy crap! Good luck, I'm sure they are going to turn out as nicely as the bikes did.

Sorry for making everyone wait, Here is my 2nd vow. The Ravenwing project took a long time since it was 99% hand brushed, but this will be knocked out fast via airbrush.

Well I am in luck, my bits came in and I can start work on my Belial conversion

Have to wait for the GS to cure before I can add more detail. May as well go back to adding the first layer of color to all the termies.

As for how I do the power weapons. Look up Buypainted on youtube and see how he uses his airbrush, I follow the same technic.

Awesome! I hope you ordered more paint and that your arm heals quick msn-wink.gif

I also hope I dont have to pray to the Lion you complete this vow lol, we need your 1.9k from your 1st vow you know!

I just ordered more paint myself and am using the downtime to get everything else possible ready.

Best of luck with this project/event, the minis already look great and will certainly be impressive when complete,

Thats the one question I hoped no one would ask, because I have no idea how I am going to base these models yet.

I'm sorry about that. I guess a big factor is how well you've glued the models to the bases.

If you have just tacked them on you might want to look at converting say 7 or 8 of each sized base and invest in some silicon rubber and 2 part plastic resin.  Then you could do some funky bases but not have to spend too much time converting up every one of them.

If they are well glued on then I'd get a 5 litre container and throw in a whole range of bits ranging from model railway ballast to different grades of sand to crushed cat litter.

Here is a 4th of july update, going to put my brushes up for the day and head to a bbq. I'm not sure if I can finish this vow by july 15, but I am trying my best. And in random news, tomorrow I'll be 29 years old woohoo!

Not sure what secret you're looking for. I have been painting 40k since the release of 3rd edition, and have been doing commissions for local players for about 4 years now. I told my clients I'm going to take a small break to focus on my armies and ETL started so I figured why not. I'm in the medical profession, so I have 4 days off a week to paint. When I do paint it's usually 12hrs straight as my OCD tends to kick in.

Great work Liberame - it is always a pleasure to see a large group of models painted to such a standard thumbsup.gif

Part of the secret is the airbrush methinks - as it really speeds things up.

I really must look at investing in one myself.

You could just paint the sun and rays on your RW banner in alternate
blood red and scab red then give it a devlan mud wash. That would help
make your angel of death stand out and is a quick fix ;)

The airbrush of course explains a little but the crucial point is boredom...

Painting the same thing 12hrs straight... Man, even when I used to be single and I had to paint 20 termis, I wasn't able to do that! Here I'm painting the last 5 tactical termis of my force and after 2h, I need to stop because I'm tired to work the bone...

Congrats and look forward to see more

If I had an airbrush I'd be doing exactly the same thing with my Space Wolves. You can always do an entire army basecoat/wash then break it up into smaller units to complete the additional details.

I'm following this to help motivate me to get a load of models done aswell, nothing like a bit of Wolf v's Lion rivalry to motivate oneself. tongue.png

So we'll see how much stuff I get done with a normal brush. msn-wink.gif

Thanks guys, and I'll probably end up doing what you said elmo, though its the free hand im most jealous of. As for the airbrush I do admit it saves A TON of time for the base coat. What made the ravenwing take so long was that only the power weapons were airbrushed, but I had been a templar player since before C: armageddon so I'm pretty proficient at painting black.
