Recommended Posts

Its inspiring to see how much thought went into this project fluff wise.

Patiently waiting for more....

In total agreement.

Noctus and Heathens this is really good stuff so far. I'm looking forward to see what comes next.

Cheers

Test Model time!

Er.... Well Work in Progress Test Model time.... Shut up

Anywho, here's my first test models for the Shadows of Mysis. I'm liking how they're looking so far alot, certainly has a lot more work to go but I think its good for my first go. smile.png

Comments and criticism would be loved.

*Slow clap*

You actually put paint on a model. Thank God.... :P

Seriously, though, it's a very nice start. The uber-dark grey instead of a solid black is a nice visual. The mold lines, though, are a brutal distraction from an otherwise solid basecoat. The corkboard works quite well as basing, but it might be worth thinning it down a touch, so that it doesn't look like every mini in your army suddenly found a boulder to jump on, lol.

Keep it coming, bro. Mine's en route.

Yes yes, I know there's a few moldlines. So sue me... dry.png

But yes, I'm very happy with the paint as this is exactly how I wanted the chapter color scheme to look. I didn't want a jet black and that exceptionally dark gray has the more ashen feel I was hoping for. Besides, I already have a black painted army. I don't need another.

Fair enough.

I'm messing about with my first mini as we speak. Should be up by tomorrow night, Throne willing.

Off to bed for now though. Been up since 0430.

Gents, the Shadows of Mysis are without a doubt one of the coolest, grittiest chapters I've had the pleasure of reading about on the 'ol B+C. In fact I had to rewatch Apocalypse: Now because of this awesome thread. Keep it up!

Ah, I see you're showing me up, as per usual. wink.png

Seriously though, brother, he looks ace so far. Can't wait to see a paint job on this guy.

(Looks like I'm going to have to step up my game)

Thanks, guys. Glad y'all like him!

Damn Heathens, the Scout looks badass! Besides the slightly large hands, I love him. The head is my favorite part but its the choice of bolter and torn pants that bring this thing to life for me.

Yeah, the hands bugged me at first too, to the point that I almost pulled him apart and started again. Solution? The captain and one other power armoured marine that joins him (not sure if I'm going for a Libby or a Techmarine yet) will be truescaled. Bam, problem solved.

diggin' the scout with minor nitpickswhistlingW.gif

i'm not a fan of the large hands ( i like the arms though) and the larger blade on his back looks like it's positioned a bit too high for him to draw comfortably.

looking forward to more thumbsup.gif
