Demoulius Posted May 25, 2013 Share Posted May 25, 2013 I Demoulius answer the call of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete 11 scouts seperated over 2 squads. 1 squad with 6 scouts (5 snipers and 1 missle launcher) and a 2nd squad with 5 scouts (2 combat, 2 bolter, 1 sniper) from Codex: Blood Angels of total value of at least 173 points on or before August 15th. Success will bring eternal glory to the Blood Angels and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of Shame until the year-end. As part of my penance for failing the LPC il be painting the same units that I had previous intended for this vow (in small tidbits) and will make a guide on how I painted my scouts for the librarium. You guys might notice that the scouts have a mixed load out and thats because I already have scout models. Im currently in the process of making room for my painting station :) ive got all scouts basecoated already and assembled the last 2 today. Will start on the first layers tomorrow! I kinda overrestimated how much work getting that 2nd paintjob done on everything. Weather also took a turn for the worst so I havent been sitting outside painting to much Still, update! Before il bring on the pictures let me say that ive brought the 6 snipers and ML scouts to a big battle (3 sides, 10 players total) yesterday where they had their first taste. My units ALWAYS die horribly when I bring them to their first match and yesterday was no exception. I had infiltrated them in the middle of the board and dident consider speedy opponents, they were charged by wraiths and a destroyer lord first time. The lord challenged and cut down the sarge. Due to the fact that we were taking so long with our turns a time limit was set to each turn resulting in the scouts holding up the wraiths for 4 full turns take that necrons! They only ended up conceding 1 kill point and held up the lord+wraiths for the entire game. Considering some squishy targets that laid behind the scouts they did an amazing job Now, onto the pictures! It can be one of the following things: 10+scouts with various weapons (yes ive got even MORE scouts left to paint...) about 10 bikers. 2 biker characters. sternguards. About 4-5 metal figures and the parts to add more. 6 on foot vanguards. I want to use more but id need to build them first unpainted Baal unpainted land raider jump chaplain Dante (still needs assembly) Stormraven (has base coat and first coat of red) 10 close combat termies+force staff terminator armor liby Thats about it I think (out of the top of my head) Some of these require more time then others obviously but im not sure what to do first.... Taranis Posted June 9, 2013 Share Posted June 9, 2013 I'd vote for the Terminators and Terminator libby. :) If there is time for another vow then the landraider looks like a natural number 3. That or Dante after Terminators. I've been considering reading the Rulebook to clarify hit and run. It might be expensive but devastating with Terminators. In the meantime I could paint something else... In the opening post I mentioned im painting the models that I pledged forr the LPC (and failed due to RL issues) so I guess I should look there first.
