Night Lords 15th Company - In Memoriam...Pg.68

Recommended Posts

Well my children, ask and ye shall receive. Here's 1st Claw's trophy hero in all his grisly glory. You know what the best thing about Space Marines is? They're so hard to kill

Also here's some progress on 2nd Claw. Should be getting a few up tomorrow evening with a bit of fluff.

As always, C&C much appreciated! Ave Dominus Nox.

Thanks guys! Painting will commence as soon as I get the treads I ordered from Machinator. I'm also thinking about drilling a couple holes on all the vehicles for trophy poles and then leaving them open so I can put trophy spikes on as they win against my gaming group's armies. Thoughts?

Cortican Prime, the agricultural hub of the Ferrican sub-sector. A lush world responsible for feeding billions of Imperial souls with it's verdant fields and bountiful harvests.

Now, those fields were burning.

Zar Jadek roared like a Nostraman Lion as he fired his plasma gun into the armored chimera transport. The bolt of searing, green sun-fire punched through the side of the personnel carrier like paper, exploding within. The chimera screeched to a halt and the rear hatch slammed open, the piercing shrieks of the immolated soldiers echoing within. As burning figures tumbled out of the stricken transport, Jadek calmly replaced the expended power cell of his ancient weapon. Turning his grill-faced MkIII war helm he took in the devastation surrounding him. Fields that once held lush crops ready for the harvest were now trampled pits of mud and flame, choked with the corpses of Planetary Defense troopers and farmers. Across the field Adak Cul was pulling the spine out of a screaming PDF Sergeant. The curving horns on his archaic helm reflected the flickering light from the burning fields as the super-human warrior busied himself with pulling apart the human soldier. Zar Jadek grinned, what was strength for if not to be used in the subjugation of the weak?

Without warning a massive impact struck Jadek in the shoulder, spinning him around. Chemical stims flooded his blood stream as he whirled around to meet this new threat. Pounding towards him was an Imperial Space Marine, his armor bearing the markings and heraldry of the Ultramarines chapter.

"Come and meet your end traitor!"

The Space Marine's voice boomed as he raced towards Jadek, a wickedly sharp gladius clenched in his cerulean fist. Zar Jadek snarled as he slung his plasma gun and gunned the engine of his archaic chainsword. That the Imperial lap-dog had got the drop on him was galling enough, but now the pride-filled fool thought he could take Jadek in single combat, time to teach this whelp the error of his ways.

Suddenly, a figure in midnight armor streaked out of the flaming field and slammed into the charging Ultramarine with a sound like a tolling bell. The warrior moved with a speed that was impressive, even for an Astartes. The Marine's red-gauntleted fist blocked the Ultramarine's bolter as he attempted to bring it to bear against his assailant. With his other hand he used a roaring chainaxe to sever the loyalist's other arm at the elbow. The Ultramarine tilted his head back and roared in shock and pain. That was his final mistake. The deathly pale warrior darted forward like an oceanic predator and sank his razor sharp teeth into the Space Marine's throat. With a sickening crunch, the midnight-armored warrior ripped half the Ultramarine's neck away. Gurgling and choking on his own blood, the loyalist collapsed into the mud. Without making a sound, the pale warrior looked up at Jadek and regarded him with cold, black eyes. Above his blood-soaked maw and jet black eyes, the warrior's shock white hair was shaved and tied back in a tribal scalp lock. Jadek nodded to the warrior in respect.

"Good kill Skaros."

The warrior said nothing in return, he merely blinked once and then stalked back into the flames.

Evening brothers, it's that time again, here's the first three members of 2nd Claw. Skaros is probably one of my favorite Marines in this army, first off he's renegade which I love, but he's also from my favorite loyalist chapter, the Carcharodons, which I will most likely build a small force of in the future. The Carcharodons are brutal enough in their own right, but I really wanted to incorporate the idea of a Badab war veteran who had killed too may fellow Astartes and now had a taste for his brother's blood. Anyways, enough talk, here's the eye candy:

Skaros, Carcharodons Renegade, Badab War Veteran, 2nd Claw, 15th Company, VIII Legion Astartes.

I'll try and get a cleaner shot of Skaros tomorrow if you guys want, it's hard not to glare them out with how pale I make them plus his white hair. If anyone has any good photo tricks for light-skinned models and reducing glare I'd love to hear them! As always C&C appreciated.

Ave Dominus Nox.

Awesome stuff as always my friend. Keep up the good work! Liked the trophy a little better with the guts hanging out but the weak and squeamish might have said it was too much. lol Amazing GS work man.

Oh don't worry the guts guy still exists, he's on 2nd Claw's Rhino, I plan on adding some more torn muscle where his arms used to be and maybe some other nastiness, but the guts remain. I don't plan on censoring anything, one of my biggest gripes with GW is them trying to dull down the grimdark for the kiddies, I like my Daemonettes with boobs and my corpses flayed, as it is in the fluff, so shall it be on the table.

Yes, that chain does help with the appearance. And the glow effect... Wow-whee-wow. Although, it looks as if the plasma gun is right next to it. Maybe, darken it a bit, if possible, to show the distance? I admit my experience is due to lack of experience though.

I have just enjoyed a good look through these Night Lords.  I really like what's going on here; The gristly trophies, the skull markings, bleached skull trophies, poses and the true scalling (which i find just right and not over the top).

Thanks Brother Heinrich, I'm looking forward to more in the future.

No I see what you're talking about, I painted over some of the wayward lighting so it's more realistic. Good catch.

Love the skinned victim,so brutal, goes well with the Night Lords.May i suggest some kind of cable system to show that he is actually kept alive?I mean if you are going that path you might as well go all the way. :whistling:

Not to sound condescending, but Astartes are a lot more durable than you give them credit for. Getting their skin peeled off would be excruciating, no doubt, but they could survive it. Remember how quickly they heal and their blood clots.

So heinrich when can I see a lord :biggrin.: loving the 1st claw & 2nd claw is starting to take shape as well  love it like always

The Lord is pretty much done, you guys'll get him after 2nd Claw is done, promise :)

Fantastic work! I think you just need something thing his neck down to the hull.

You mean like a chain around his throat or something?

Yes, like a chain or brace to keep him further pinned..or maybe a nail bolting/pinning his neck down (as long as he can still breath and not die:devil:

In other news, the next three members of 2nd Claw are almost done, however with each new bit of fluff I have an ever decreasing amount of 'Night Lord-y' names to pull from. Thus I have decided to open up the remaining members of 2nd Claw, the 6 future bikers , and the 4 Atramentar for naming after certain members of the community. I would love to open this up for everyone to see their name in midnight clad, however some of y'all have names that just don't fit. Do not fear though! I won't leave you out, feel free to put a Night Lord twist on your name and submit it for review. The names you submit will be written into my fluff and have a miniature representing their eternal place of honor in 15th Company!

One further stipulation; The 4 Atramentar are reserved for my Night Lords brethren specifically, if all of them don't get claimed then I will open them up for others to name. PM me if you want to claim a slot and you have a suitable name, the slots are as follows:

Name Slots Available:

2nd Claw:

Sergeant - Kol Saresk

Plasma Gunner - Dal Khailos (Mikhail)

Minotaurs Renegade - Kageryon (Brother Chaplain Kage)

Marine 1 - Zso Galon (Barabbas Sogalon)

Marine 2 - Urakesh (Dorns_fist)

Marine 3 - Cairovas (Lord Angrypants)

Marine 4 - Gershak  (Bloodhound23)

Biker 2 - Norok Vaaz (Maximvs)

Atramentar:

Terminator 1 - Cor Madrek (DarkVen)

Terminator 2 - Malicoth (HellChyld)

Terminator 3 - Kuul Zhar (Balthamal)

Let me know where you would like to be placed within the warband and it shall be so, this will be first come first serve, so make sure to PM me ASAP! Ave Dominus Nox!
