Amazing idea and execution - love it! I love a great idea being realised - it's so satisfying to do too. 

 

Another +1 on tweaking the book a bit. Edit: Maybe actually leaving it off will enhance the flow of the mini?

 

As for the head, I really like this one:

 

 

It's weird enough to identify as something else than a standard Black Legion marine, but it doesn't scream Thousand Sons - plus the lack of horns will give a lot of freedom regarding the position of the head.

 

i dont think that ill remove the book , every sorcerer needs his spell book , and i like the details too give character.

 

but helm is still undetermined, i like the faceplate of that one, but hate the crest with that beak :/

the head isn't bad, but still gonna try different ones and see if i can get a nice fit, i added chains on the book now but not sure if i will remove it even if clunky.

i have looked at the scrolls and odds and ends i have in my bitbox and none relly fit him either, so indont know.

Completely unrelated but just have to share it! i dopwnloaded the new Black legion audiobook here at midnight and im bursting with happy glee, i hope this series is looooooong and many many books!! that one is for you Adb! great work, i knew i was gonna get this one after 15 mintues of listning to talon of Horus! its just that good!

Can we all please agree that Thaimer is the best at converting space marines. Ever. 

 

I am Thaimer's biggest fan. I have been here since page one, move aside, move aside, make way, I was here first. Man! WOW!!! my only question is when are you going to paint something? Did you paint that vicious killer Raptor Lord yet? Did I miss it? I need updates man, real updates! no more teasing!

As a conversion I love it, works really well. It would be a horror to use as a gaming piece I think. But Rule of Cool wins out.

oh wow thanks, thats very flattering now im not sure what to say.

 

and hmm, as for real updates well i do like to build more than i do like to paint, but there is other reasons one thing i found out is that priming during the winter here is pretty much impossible, it gets up to minus 31 celsius, and i have nowhere inside to spray.

 

so atm im building up a horde of models ready for winter for pain, the raptor lord and co are primed black and ready but unpainted for now.

 

but they will come promise, but right now im in building mode, workong on several projects and have only shown a bit will post pictures soon.

thanks, i honestly think he be fine to play with, i havent glue him yet but even with the mock up unglued he seems stable.

 

my plan is not to glue the nnect to the blood angle, so i could make alternate base for gaming bit not sure if that is necessary.

I like it, I don't know if it is too practical to put bayonets on a building, but it certainly gives it a chaosy look. If you fill the hole between the skull and the bolter with greenstuff it will look fine.

i know it's not really practical but it looks okay? i was thinking about chains and there isent really anywhere good to connect it and if i hang things from the chains it just look bulky like a whole space marine helmet or skulls , so thats why i came up with the blades, i love to hear more about what the rest of you think too, oh and the skull can line up flush i was just in a hurry when i took the picture
