I wouldn't have thought of that, so simple:) i'll have to give that a try!

:) I use that method often, its simple and easy, the results are good.

Seeexy!

thanks, i know but what about the sonic weapons? ;)

joking aside i been looking for a post in a haystack, somewhere here i have seen a post that shows someone sculpting space marines but the actual rivits they had what looked like tiny metal balls just pressed into the green stuff, i looked and looked but i just cant find the post again, anyone know wich one i mean?

You're like a god amongst men Thamier. If you could elaborate more on how you made the horns for the blastmaster - my feeble mind fails to comprehend.

Also so nice to see one of your painted dudesman again. I enjoy digging through your thread - but maybe you could do some updated photos of some of your favourites or something. they need showcasing. Much wow.

Really enjoying the backpack mount doom siren - that's genius. Works in really well with the chaos backpacks. Could we get some more angles on that...?

Hey I missed this earlier. Did you see it recently or was it a long time ago? I know Darkven does a lot of that in his work, so maybe in his new thread? I actually went out and bought some 1mm beads from eBay years ago for just this purpose, but I cannot conceive a method to pick the little devils up and accurately place them. You might need to be more specific if you want to find the thread, there are a few...

Looking forward to moare

A showcase of some of your minis would be really great, I think you have some of the most inspiring stuff of the whole forum, frankly.

Those puppets of war fiends look just right for khornate puppies, I'm looking forward to see what you do with them.

now what mins should i showcase then? all of them? some? shoukd i choose or shoukd we have pol tell me the favorites then i can go from that?

ye the doggys will be awsome, im not converting them the models are just wicked as is just a bit of paint :)

Wow the detail on the slaanesh backpack is amazing, and also echoing the others in saying the horns on the blast master looks so good.

thanks! as i said i really enjoy the details so fiddling with the tiny stuff makes it extra fun to do, and i guess i have to show how i did horns then, guess after the call of chaos ill get right on that.

i think it was about a week ago, and i have the 1mm beads but they are way to big to use on a marine, so these have to be even smaller!!

i think i used tiny tweezers to use the beads i have. but what i remember was a sculpted space marine chest coukd be terminator like, with rivets along the gorget i think, but i still havent found it, will try darkven, thanks!

  • 3 weeks later...

heya everyone, its christmas! i been meaning to do a update on the thread but been busy, so didnt get much done but haw a few pictures.

so soonish there be a 30k event locally, in the end of January sofar we are 18 players and i signed up with my sons of Horus, so i have to build and paint up more models among them there is maloghurst the twisted ofc so i done a litte more work on him but it is still wip lots left to do, but did manage to do a mock up and take a few pictures

so what i wanted is him to be mid motion and keep the character so he is recognisesble hopefully he look a bit twisted a bit hunchedbacked. i been taking my inspiration from the artworks all 3 of them so need to have certain things the masked face the custom backpack and the flayed skin and ofc the bannerpole with the eye

sarted on the base still needs more but its astart

Maloghurst is looking awesome! I really like the hunchback look you've done so far! This is definitely going to turn out amazing.

thanks, i still have time to mess it up ;)

Maloghurst is great. I am taking so mich inspiration from your thread. Thx matr

thanks that make me very happy to hear, and also got me wondering what matr is ?

Blastmaster looks amazing. How did you get from pic to physical thing?

thanks, the step by step is i copyed the design onto another paper in the scale i wanted then taped that onto plastic card and cut and filed into shape and glued on details, if you like i can try to explain in more detail if needed :)

with maloghurst i been thinking about the flayed skin he has as looncloth if you seen the artwork, i been wondering how he should look on the back side, if the skin goes all the way round or just fastend by hooks on the sides of his waist, any ideas?

Personally speaking, I think it should be more of a tabard than a simple loincloth, to underline his special position as the Warmaster's equerry with less of an actual combat role. From the (incomplete) depictions in the artwork, I always took away the impression of something almost like Fabius Bile's human skin lab coat, but that's just my head canon.

Is that still the same head you had on there previously, by the way?
