This will be the new thread for istvaan V participants, this will however extend to major engagements such as the battle of Terra, Ultamar, Thramis & Prospero to encourage all XVIII legions admech & imperial army.


Sub sections for the vows will be updated soon.

The Rules-

Minimum entry requirements 1000pts.

Following inclusions; 1hq & 2 troop choices with transports.

MkVI & VII will be allowed as long as it's mixed with other MK armour, before doing so you must inform everyone of it being designated as a MKV.

Strictly no MKVIII or razorbacks allowed.


Transport rules;

20xman squads don't need to be provided with a transport option.

otherwise a minimum of two transports; land raiders, rhinos, drop pods, storm eagles etc. are required with
only the first two troop choices, the only exceptions are 20 man units.



Time Limits;
there are none this is a showcase no stress but an oath will need completion by book III


Other rules;

If for example your oath is for RG, SAL or IH MK VII is appropriate due to salvaging and rebuilding armour. No squads can be a cohesive set of MKVI or Higher without including conversions or MKV. Mk VII pieces will be allowed at a max of one per model.

Indomitus pattern TDA will be allowed to a max of 10.
 

 

 

Allied attachments;
This will be allowed without taking a second oath but will require a 1:1 ratio. If you wish to add a squad of SoH Reavers you will also need to produce a World eater scout squad etc.

This will begin as of the 5th of September. Vows must be taken please wait till the 5th as the page is under construction.

Each participant must wear their factions banner in there WIP Thread. Think carefully as a maximum of two factions can be chosen by each member.




Independent posts-

An allowance for characters & heresy era appropriate material will be allowed, any submissions for primarchs or independent characters will be accepted. (No need for an oath of moment)


The Heresy thread will contain completions, all WIP and updates will be in the WIP thread.

Please keep all the banter and unrelated posts to the WIP forum thread, this is to be a showcase thread containing finished pieces, comments on finished pieces are fine and questions are fine.


When producing an oath of moment, please state as following;

"I (insert name) in this oath of moment, will produce (insert points & list) for my legion and for the warmaster/emperor"

This will allow for loyalist world eaters, death guard, etc.

how would we be going about the Imperial Army, mean how to build it on paper? I plan on using Krieg models. or a super-Special, top secret kit bash!

Imperial army just can't be straight guard. Vastroyans steel legion kreig and conversions will be fine, same with renegades and cultists as there will be fanatical elements.

 

Commissars are fine same with most elements of the guard just no straight up cadians or cadian schemes

so should we use the Guard dex until HH handles it or what. I was planning on using the DKK siege army list from forgeworld!

Guard lists will suffice for the meantime ;) my only thing I'm adding is an allies contingency, so if some people are doing SOH but want some rampagers they will be allowed to with a ratio of 1:1 so one allied rampager squad = an extra SoH squad.

 

So you could do a 5 man unit of scouts or whatever.

 

Pre established forces such as my army won't count but will be allowed overall. Ill still have to add the minimum 1000 points

I'll join I just started my Sons of Horus. I got a ton of stuff and I have only painted 3 guys so far so this would be a perfect time for me to start something like this. My only question is are the transports required since I don't have any since I am doing 15 to 20man tac squads they can't take them anyway so I never bought any. Also how long do we have to complete each vow ?

Okay with the vows it will be in point form, completion is still up in the air I'm thinking December will be the close.

 

20 man squads will be exempt from the transport rule but I haven't finished writing it all up yet guys. Later today there will be more info.

 

Just prepare your lists for the 5th and think carefully on vows

While I like the idea of this, I don't game (not since 2nd) and paint/build whatever takes my fancy for the moment. For this event the 1000pt vow and unit minimums is something I find too restricting, I'm not really into building a playable force.

Having said all of that, I may submit some 'Out of Competition' vows, as I have quite a bit of Heresy stuff to get through, including quite a few Primarchs.

I've always wanted to build the Catalun Reavers so they'll be in, perhaps as a HQ and command squad choice, all with jump packs led by Kalus Ekaddon. Are Landraiders ok for troop transports? If possible my vow will just say, 'will paint 1000 points of SoH, minimum 2 troops inc transports & 1 HQ + a bunch of other stuff which is a mystery/surprise.'
