The Infernal Carnival (Work in Progress Chaos Warband)

So I've been plodding away on a chaos warband in recent months to accompany my homebrew loyalist chapters. Only got a single pic at the moment I'm afraid, of my WiP Sorcerer Totirh the Bedamned.

He's supposed to be the real centrepiece of the warband, the charismatic rogue, hence the use of a truescale torso and legs. As befits his preference for close combat he's got the force stave from the Chaos Lord box, plus a converted loyalist powerfist since finding a right handed one is really hard for Chaos.

 

The arms are both terminator ones, with the shoulders shaved and filed considerably to allow the use of CHS shoulderpads, since regular terminator pads would have looked silly and regular chaos marine ones would be too small.

 

At the moment I'm contemplating the choice of heads, leaning towards the Chapterhouse 'Dragonmarine' helmet.

Nothing too out of the ordinary, all made with GW parts aside from the Champion who has a Chapterhouse Salamander head. There's going to be another three termies made, as soon as I can order the spare bits I need for them.

 

Aside from that, all that needs building is a pair of Chaos Marine squads, a Daemon Prince, and then onto painting.

Great models - what colour scheme do you have in mind? Or are you going to finish painting that fence first?! ;)

I'm thinking something very vivid for them, since a lot of my loyalists tend to darker colours. Might look at a green/red combo.

 

As for the fence, we've had to replace those panels when they got blown down. DIY, a never-ending job!

Figured I'd give this a long-overdue update. Unfortunately I've not painted anything, but I've got a fair list of stuff to finish assembling and then undercoating;

In other news, I recovered one of my old Chaos Space Marine Lords, the one with the Powerfist and combi-melta. I'm currently considering whether to replace the Sorcerer's current PF with the Lord's one since it does look better;

Hey look, we did the fence! And the entire garden. Good god, I hate gardening.

 

Terminator Champion - He's still not done yet, there's always little bits to be doing. The rock displease me, so I'm going to be studying some tutorials on painting rubble properly.

Looking good, I'm liking the purple you've got going on, how are you going about that?

On a technical note I'd suggest watering your paints a little to get a smoother colour and maybe giving the silvers a wash just to bring them down a little and to help get all of the detail out of them. Looking forward to seeing this grow.
