Why the land speeder when the storm talon has 3 HP and IWND? And save points for more stuff?

Sorry it has 2 HP but does more for less. And I see now, you were saying a squadron, heavy flames can still take your jink save away.

To Spaz431, hey thanks for the reply on my post this is my first time using a forum...I like the Talon okay but since it has only two hull points and I dont deepstrike my stuff anymore I wouldnt really use it.   I also didn't really post how I use my army....I actually dont run a squadron of land speeders I run them individually they are crowd control /tank hunters. I.E. large hordes of Orks,Nids,Tau and Guard get the Heavy Flamers in the face or use the multi meltas to pop big tanks...I also combat squad the bike squads dependin on my opponet I will usually split the bikes up where the 2 flamers and attack bike with multi melta move forwad and douse enemy lines and send the speeders down the flanks. I keep the 5 bolter bikes at mid field shooting at 24 and holding objectives.  I send my capatain and command squad crashing into heavy melee units (except terminators) and the mortis dreads just stay in cover and shoot all game long...gotta love ballisic skill 5 and 4 shots at strength 7 twin linked and 2 strength 8 shots.

 

I also use one of the 5 man bolter bike units to attach the librarian if need be, but usually he will stay attached with the command squad and captain, I give biomancy and presience to the Librarian (biomancy I am hoping for either Endurance first or Iron Arm)   I just wish they would have Given Iron Hands 1 decent Character in the new codex....Not a prebuilt charater (although I like Vaylund Cal) Just a Master of the Forge with a 3rd wound and 1 point more iniative then you add all your own stuff....thats my rant

2 Spaz431----Amen brother....I really miss the codex that let you build your own chapter with traits I think it was 4th ed? They are getting there with 6th ed codex, I just hope they give us a couple of really decent characters that tie into the fluff and narrative thing. (The whole 6+FNP was great because it brought back the days of bionics) Now all we need is an Iron Father or a MOTF that allows you to upgrade Sgt's to terminators that would be awesome or Iron Fathers could be like Sanguinary priests and grant FNP bubble
