The old Veteran's warning was nothing more than the ravings of a crazy old man who'd drunk more then his fair share of amasec. He and his squad mates had laughed until the muttering old fool left them to their revellry. They were the 102nd Skallosan, what need had they to fear the dark? As Guardsman Salmeon Morat ran for his life through the blood slicked streets of some backwater hab block, the laughter of that drink fuelled night turned to ash in his throat. It had been less than a week since the dreams had started. Dreams of fire, rage and unending torment. Dreams that had followed and now stalked him on his fear maddened dash to the rally point. The terrified cries of his abandoned squad mates, men and women he had sworn to fight alongside an ever present reminder of the fate that awaited him should he stop. A droning accompaniment to his hurried footsteps. Droning? Sal slowed his pace and listened. He wasn't imagining it. There, just at the edge of hearing but growing every second was a persistant droning. Like insects crawling and scraping over each other. Reflex took over and without thinking, he threw himself against the ruined archway of a collapsed habitat. Muttering prayers to him on Terra, he watched as the road slowly turned to liquid ruin. Foul smelling water forcing itself out of every crack in the fire blackened stone. Through tear blinded eyes he watched as something vile and impossibily vast forced itself into being, all the while the droning growing louder. He watched as his nightmare came to claim him. Hey guys! With the advent of Call of Chaos, I've felt my painting mojo return. However, instead of painting some more Black Legionaries, I've decided to mix things up and add some Daemonic allies. For the Call I will be painting two units of twenty Daemonettes, twenty horrors, a Nurgle soul grinder, five plague drones and a herald of Tzeentch. A good starting point for my 1850pt list! When painting them, I decided to go for quite bright, "in your face" colours, mainly to break up the pale skin, but also because whenever I think of Daemonettes, I picture a blur of riotious colour and solid black leather. Sith’ari Posted December 2, 2013 Author Share Posted December 2, 2013 Cheers mate! I went for yellow to help tie them into my Black Legion force, when they inevitably ally together. Though for the next unit, I'm thinking about changing the colours up a bit. Maybe Turquoise hair, purple cloth and pink claws. I've been thinking a bit more about the metals on my Pink horrors today and I've decided to go for gold, rather than the bronze I'd originally tried. Since the skin on them is quite pale, I feel that a stronger metallic should help them stand out a bit more - fingers crossed! :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
