Those palatine blades should come with a warning and real example of what they look like. The swords are just way too thin to ever really be used. Even when straight it will flex with no force at all. I'm going to swap mine for some plastic swords, Ive just not found a suitable donor model yet. I'm hoping the new dark elf executioner swords but think they may be too big.

@ Brother Melice & irwit: Hot water. A simple solution and very effective. In order to avoid melting the resin in even stranger shapes, I suggest dipping some piece of cloth or a tissue in the hot water and use it to reshape the bended part... It works - no more "spaghetti" blades (couldn't put it better myself :D):

@ Oli: Not big on conversions personally - ok I'm lousy at it. Thankfully the FW stuff are awesome enough straight out of the box, so that's a relief... :D

@ Forte: Thanks mate! You know, as long as the robes are not purple I can walk out of here in one piece...

@ furioso prime: wait until the DAs get some FW love... 1Q15 is it? Until then I plan to do two Traitor armies of 1,500pts each to match my grand DA project.

@ Knight of the Raven: I thought no one noticed! :D Truth is these are left over bases that I tought I'd mix - thankfully without glueing. Unfortunately the effect is indeed quite clashing, so yes, I did order new ones that are in the mail already...Nice catch KotR! hahaha!!!

I would like again to thank you all for cmmenting here - the Palatine Blades will be worked on next and then time for some troops - assault squads incoming... Undecided on the MKs still. :)

Really can't wait to see those blades painted up bro, once i've finished my Fist's I intend to do a 40k EC force, so i'll be watching this thread closely and bugging you about stuff from time to time I think.

@ forte: well, first clean the flash and take care of the mould lines. Then wash them with soap in cold water and let them dry - like you have. Then I take the bended parts, and use really hot water the straighten them up. It's really easy - you can do this with large items too - like a Rhino side armour. After that I put them together - I will add the shoulder pads before I prime them and I will paint the jetpacks (from the Sang Guard box) seperately. I will glue them on their bases once they arrived. :)

My blades sniped when I was trying to reshape them in hot water.... Can't figure out that trick

 

Damn! That's really bad luck... what I did was to dip paper towel in the really hot (amost boiling) water and then gently rub it on the bended surfave while gently pushing it in the direction I wanted it to go. I had to repeat the process often since the water was cooling off. The result is satisfactory (although not perfect) and the process is fairly safe to avoid snapping the delicate resin...

 

If you dip the entire item into hot water you ran the risk of melting the resin and completely deforming the item.
