Weren't the mournival all in MK IV? Besides Ezekiel Abaddon?

Shh... minor detail ;)  Though it depends on when the figure is made for :)

I vote Relic too... though I'm partial to a nice MkIII pad too.

my vote also goes to relic armor for his pad

additionally the small piece of cloth on his lower back shouldn't hang as straight, it should flutter with his movement imho.

Hiya guys! Finished up Tarik. Pretty darn happy with him, even though he took like eight hours to paint.

Of course, C&C is always appreciated. I never mind improving ^_^

Thanks for all the helpful input from everyone! It's always super handy to get such good feedback when I'm confused or stuck on something.

The rest of his glamour shots are over in the March of Legions if you want to go check him out. Enjoy!

I know next to nothing about Tarik Torgaddon but I know that your take on him looks really cool. A good use of parts and a nice, clean paintjob.

Even as I entered the Consanguinalia, I knew one of my broken angels awaited me. I folded my wings and stepped across the threshold.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/905/oCr5hY.jpg

He bowed his head as I entered. Even so, I could see his gore stained hands trembling against armored faulds. Mailed gauntlets that once tore the throat from a Kine warlord clenched and spasmed as if in seizure.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/673/PB1OQF.jpg

I took the helm from my belt. The short, black crest was ragged but proud. As I locked it into place upon the gorget of his armor, I heard my angel speak, his voice torn and trembling.

'My Lord... I can feel it. It is all I see,' the Angel's blue eyes glared from behind the helm's visor, 'I could not stop it.'

There is nothing I can say to convey my desolation.

'I know, my Angel.'

It will have to do.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/537/V8wmqF.jpg

My left hand drips with the gore that still stains his gauntlets. Fingers tracing the Sanguine Censure across his brow, my voice is low but I do not falter.

'Son of the Angel. Knight of the Saint.'

'Son of the Angel. Knight... of the Saint, blessed be.'

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/538/qoLJ7N.jpg

'Oathed of the Consanguinity, Scion of the Knighthood Savage.'

'Oathed... of ... Consangunity. Scion... Knighthood... I will kill...'

'I lay unto thee your final duty, to wreak such red havoc upon thine enemies that their descendants an eon from now will speak in hushed whispers.'

'I... accept my duty... the red havoc... they will know my name... Father, he is coming. By my blood I will open his traitorous throat with my fangs and feed his soul to the void.'

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/901/Wt3d6p.jpg

'Of the Blood, of the Saint, of the Angel.'

'Of the Murdered, of the Slayer, of the Betrayed.'

'Go with the blessing of the Consanguinity. Die well Karhunan.'

'I am his doom made manifest. I am the blade wrought red to end the life of a God.'

(sorry these took a little while to get to!)

@ Vesper - Thanks! Always appreciate a regular.

@ Black_out - Thanks! The white is pretty simple. Just a base coat of heavy blue-gray and successively smaller highlights of Astronomicon gray and dead white.

@ K-Sci - Wow, that's pretty steep praise from A DB's favorite biggrin.png

Hehe, thanks buddy! Tarik is definitely in my top 3.

@ Atia - haha, you're such a fluff bunny tongue.png

Glad you like him though.

@ Pearson - Thanks!

@ Augustus - I appreciate it. I feel like I "get" painting white now.

@ Lokkorex - Thanks buddy!

@ Hydra - Appreciate it.

@ MrBear - Just know he is A.) Badass and B.) Quippy.

What about his boots though? biggrin.png

GG Flint, GG

Its that kinda Brutal Tragedy (is that what I'm looking for?) that makes the Blood Angels stand out in my eyes. Bravo! Short and Sweet!

Enjoyable read Flint :) and he looks suitably bamf. I do like that palette you use with these guys; the cool blue at odds with the red.

Nice sword conversion btw

EDIT - Argel Tal came out excellent too. Massive kudos on him/it :D

"Kharhu Dhal, acknowledge."

*static*

"Kharhu Dhal, by the Four, acknowledge! We've fallen back."

Vorak Sho slammed an armored guantlet to the side of his warhelm as he ran. It had taken a glancing shot from one of the rabid angels and now fits of static and data phantoms scrawled across the inside of his right eye lens. Nor had he been able to get a decent vox signal since the Fourth Clan had broken at the Wall. The Word Bearer snarled and cracked the butt of his boltgun into the helmet's temple as he rounded a corner. The static abated somewhat. That seemed to do the trick...

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/540/f0yvxM.jpg

Preoccupied with the malfunctioning armor, it took several millisecs for him to analyze the figure crouched in the middle of the corridor as he rounded the corner. His boltgun snapped up to his shoulder, armored digit caressing the trigger just short of the break threshold. In the pitch black of the Wall's inner lengths, even his enhanced senses were having trouble picking out all the details... he saw red and black warplate... friendly?

The curse-damned helm's sensor suite pinged for a moment before unhelpfully labeling the figure with a "APC:NTRL" tag.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/633/48Iaho.jpg

"Voi SHET?" Vorak Sho barked as he glared over the sight of his boltgun, "Voi shet catcha khol?"

The figure didn't move, except its shoulder plates as its hands worked at something on the ground... an armored corpse. Vorak could hear now a wet ripping sound. He had been around the Twice-born long enough to know the sound of flesh tearing. He started to relax just a fraction. If he had come upon one of the Blessed, maybe he had found an ally. It would depend how sated the daemon form was... if it wasn't gorged though, Vorak did not have much time to convince it to abandon its kill.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/537/lSZiv7.jpg

Vorak Sho let his bolter muzzle trail down as he started forwards. A faulty data-djinn spiraled maliciously across his lens once again, warning of a non-existant coolant leak in his left knee. He shook his head to clear it.

"Gal Vorbak," the sibilant Dark Tongue spilling from his vox grille, "Voi ched qua con darhal kor?"

He saw the figure halt and raise its head. Its voice was the grind of a glacier.

"Kor darhal bredek khel."

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/540/wfleFh.jpg

Vorak Sho snarled and recoiled at the insult. His boltgun snapped back up to a firing position. That had not been the beauteous twin-voice of one of the Twice-born. The armored Astartes turned as it stood. Blood thick with Larraman cells dripped in clotted clumps from its armored gauntlets and the grille of its helm. Its head cocked to the side as it observed the Word Bearer through ice blue lenses. Sho's gaze dropped to the corpse on the corridor's floor. Its chest had been ripped open, Black Carapace cracked and splayed, hearts and geneseed torn out. Around what was left of its throat, there was a very familiar golden torque, one shared by all of the Apostles of Fourth Clan.

It was Kharhu Dhal.

Vorak Sho roared as he depressed the trigger, boltgun kicking in his hand...

@ Slipstreams - Thanks! Glad you like the fluff.

@ Midnight - Thanks! My wayward IX legion always feel more legit when endorsed by the mascot of the cool BA successor chapters biggrin.png

@ Kol - Something like that. But so is this one happy.png

Glad you liked it.

Liar Angels? I thought you meant Dark Angels for a second there....

Also: Amazing helmet battle damage! Shield is inspired if a bit simple but it works. Nice Pseudo Sevatar Nostroman Chainglaive.

Did you GS sculpt the Chest? Or is it a CSM bit? I haven't really seen that before.

Really nice model, and a great story.

The blue makes a nice spot colour, and your whites seem to be getting smoother now. Also lovely smooth blending/highlighting with the reds smile.png

On some of the others they have had "borrowed" plates of armour from other marine chapters that they have encountered. Has he inherited a chain glaive and a WE helm in his travels?
