You can never have enough Imperial Guard... My Project Log

Rumour Control

Recommended Posts

Hi all, thanks for the great comments. It's really nice to have people show an interest.

Argun: the gold is painted on using Vallejo liquid gold: gold. If you haven't heard of it before its an alcohol based paint so no water never, if you do it goes rusty apparently and really makes a mess. Clean brushes and dilute with pure rubbing alcohol. It's really good stuff. 1-2 coats over a black undercoat. Yes I will be painting the interior next week after I've finished the boring job of painting the gold.

WarriorFish: I hope to keep it coming, I do a little before work in the morning just to keep ticking over. It's surprising how an half an hour here and there really helps. Especially with the tedious one colour jobs.

Lionofjudah: Thanks! I am too so looking forward to seeing the maniple all lined up ready for war.

I have also decided I'm going to repaint the armour on the reaver. I painted it a couple of years ago( was it that long ago???) when I'd just bought my airbrush, so it matches the Warhounds. The reaver paint job isn't the best so need to bring it in line, but that won't be till after Christmas now, I've too much to do! I also bought a plasma blast gun from forge world today so hopefully that will be here in a week or so.

Thanks for the inspiring comments guys.

Waitaminute... This is a Warp Runners (can't remember Legio's latin name) Warhound, isn't it?

I am loving the crip paintjob, but have one question: how are you going to do the legio's symbol?

Argun: Yes that is correct, Legio Astorum (Warp Runners). Ive been thinking about the symbol, The black eclipse, i was going to use masking paper/tape and cut a circle out and stick it on the model and airbrush around it then using the bit id cut the circle from place that over the white and paint the black in the middle if you get what i mean.

Just having a quick bite to eat then back at it

What ive been up to...

hi all! Busy day today, had the 12k game at warhammer world. It was very good, a little one sided, I lost 10-2! Who cares about the numbers, i got my titans on the table for the first time! Though we only got to turn 3 and the titans only got a single round of shooting but it was an achievement. Like a fool we got so into the game i forgot to take photos of just the three of them! I have some action in game pics so i could post those if you wanted to see?

Anyhow, I'll try and post progress of the army over the christmas holidays but it maybe a bit dry on the update front for a couple of weeks. I plan to paint the princeps and moderati for both warhounds and do the bases for them next, and some grenadiers and death riders too.

Thanks for looking!

Merry Christmas all! Just a update on the army as a whole, Santa has been very kind to the Death Korps over the christmas period. The ranks have swelled by another 10 men as i was gifted a squad of guardsmen thanks to the mrs(which i was over the moon about!). I'll be working on these soon after the christmas break.
