Kastor Krieg Posted December 26, 2013 Share Posted December 26, 2013 With the emergence of the new Cypher "supplement" and the resurgence of the threads about him, and by deathspectersgt7's suggestion, let's welcome the good old fluffy Cypher back in 40K - with a proper hobby offering. Show off your Cyphers, guys and gals. Since it's the Hall of Honor, please show off either complete conversions or complete paintjobs. Here's my completed Cypher kitbash, made from a DV Librarian body, CSM plasma pistol arm, SM bolt pistol arm, DA Vet shoulder pads and an old CSM backpack plus a BT wrapped sword (BT cross removed). nurglez Posted December 26, 2013 Share Posted December 26, 2013 I ended up using the pieces of my cypher model in other conversions years ago. Though I do have one planned. I want him without his pistols, hands hovering near his holsters. based on the description of how you dont often get to see his pistols as he's so damn quick. I also want his sword on his back with part of it poking up over the backpack, how it is in the picture in the dataslate (the ones with his arms crossed over his chest). Whispering, 'my layers of paint are thin. Strip me, dude. You know you want to repaint me.'. I still like the colours on him though. I wanted something more like the 2nd-3rd Edition chaos models, taking inspiration from Ahriman in particular. I'd probably mute them if I redid him to bring it all together better but he'd still be wacky. Anyway, picture. Two more views here and here. I'd also have the Dark Vengance Chaplain in the bit box after useing bits to convert a Dark Apostle for my Iron Warriors last year :D I've just recently spent yesterday re-paint the Cypher model from Black Power armour to Green power armour after seen some of the recent background. Personally I'd look to do more even distribution of highlighting/shading on the freshly painted green armor (the right shoulder/arm. It's an inspiring piece. ninjasuperspy Posted January 3, 2014 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Haha I blame this thread for the DV Librarian suddenly selling out at my favorite bitz seller. Luckily I found a cheap one through another seller. Now to make a decision on bolt & plasma pistols. I like the Phobos Bolt pistol but can't decide between the Forgeworld HH Plasma, the Khorne Berserker one with the cables on the side or the one Kastor used at the top there. I'm also trying to decide if I want to try cutting the book & scroll off of his hip so I can replace them with holsters. Hard to get empty holsters though.
