Hello, brothers.

I appreciate the invitation, but based on the timeline I'm using for my VIII Legion, they are just that - VIII Legion at the tail end of the Unification Wars and slightly after, before their Legion had a proper name. They are most definitely NOT Night Lords. I'm also taking that little thread of info that was provided in Massacre and spinning my own story and history out of it.

Right now, I only have a few character names, primarily Vall, who you've seen a bit of in the posts Heathens has been putting up in the Memoriam thread, but in the spirit of this thread:

VIII Legion, IX Company. Crimson Sons.

Commanded by Captain Gresh

Notable members:

Lieutenant Vall, Firstborn. Fourth Battalion, Recon Squad Alpha.

Noted! Does the 77th have a commander or sobriquet?

VIII Legion 77th company ""Harbingers of Nocnitsa".

Motto: "Jedem Das Seine"

Commander: Unknown (Records lost).

Strength: Unknown (Records lost).

Speciality: Boarding Specialists. Company was favored by Night Hunter in void action. On numerous occasions the 77th was sighted fighting by his side.

And on that point, I need to reiterate that the Crimson Sons are NOT 9th company, per se. They were born from their ashes, but are not truly of the newer 9th company.

Dare I say, they may not even have a numerical designation any longer.

You have our gene-seed, that's close enough.

Terran VIII Legion. Pure and uncorrupted by the Nostraman bloodline.

Ahem, Zso Sahaal wasn't a Nostraman and he came easily enough.

VIII Legion is VIII Legion, blood to blood, bone to bone. With or without the homeworld. :cool.:

@Flint: Its turning out fun ain't it?

Well, I won't lie, it was a little bit of work, but I think it's really cool to see all those companies put together in one place. Like we did something lasting, kinda ^_^

Yeah, according to the little fluff bit that came with that awesome color plate, they were allegedly wiped out in the loyalist purge on Istvaan.

Maybe. Possibly. Allegedly. Ish.

Sahaal and every other Terran besides the Crimson Sons spent time with their father, fighting as he taught, and absorbing the language, culture, and mentality of Nostromo.

The Crimson Sons never served with the Rotted One. Never exposed themselves to the sickness that consumed you all.

....whether you like it or not, Kol. Like the bastard Curze's mind, the VIII legion is a fractured lot. We are not of one mind. We are not of one soul. We hate each other, we kill each other. The Crimson Sons are a different breed born of a nobler age, a time when the bloodline of the VIII was a grim, driven, focused, unified force.

We are what you could have been, oathbreaker.

Killing is killing, Brother, whether you do it for the lying corpse on the golden throne or for your own ideals. War is eternal, there will always be predator and prey, and on the sands of Istvaan, you were the prey...

i wish we could get a total number of companies and make changes as we need to our own fluff...and then GW takes it from there...haha

...scratch that...all our guys would be dead within a weeks time against Snipers, Eldar, Tau Gun lines, Grey Knights, and Smurfs...

Then I die with pride.

You die for nothing.

That is enough.

Pride and honor is nothing. There are none now who remember your petty ideals, save for those who last held a knife to your throat. The ideals and visions you fought for are lies infested with billions of maggots who will never know of your existence. But they know fear, for fear as eternal, as are we, the true sons of our father, the rightful heirs to this galaxy, and most importantly, the ones who survived...

Lie to yourself all you wish, child. No one survived the Last War; you are all just corpses who forgot to stop breathing.

We know the truth.  Our father was betrayed and set us free to cut the Imperium a million times a million times until it bleeds its last drop out and finally dies before us.
