Hunting around for my unpainted bloodletters and found this fellow

http://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-GEEV5pFYAEc/VRcf0R9B9hI/AAAAAAAAAI8/vjimkVTM414/s2048-no/IMG_1198.JPG

Not too bad but I'm going to redo it. And the hunt goes on (if only I had a Flesh hound to help).

Whoa, I had a idea upon seeing that Juggernaut and now I can't get the visual out of my head. Now, stop me if you've heard this one before...

"I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth."

I see him in my mind's eye, a rider clad in ash-daubed plate, jagged scythe slick with vitae and eyes like burning coals set inside a skull-faced warhelm. His steed is just as terrible, a hulking beast of helforged metal and gore-soaked hunger, as pale as it's master save for the fresh crimson stained upon it's ironshod hooves and horns.

I dunno, I just had to get Khornate Ash-man Grim Reaper Doomrider out of my head before I went crazy. Anyway, I look forwar to seeing more Khornate goodness from you Adra! :)

Well, found the bloodletters, 18 of them. Also, found a herald (FW) and 2 plastic chaos spawn. All on the wrong shapes but I'll be pulling them off when may basing stuff arrives.

Edit: SanguiniusReborn, also found something else you might like, given the quote.

Ah, I can see them strolling through the burning fields of the Palatinate, maiming and killing together to this song...

Cheers Ace.

I've started the base for my Herald, mainly as a tester to sort the style. Here's what I have so far.

Bit of blutac to hold it together. I want to add two flamers to it. I'm thinking of cutting down two Pyroclast weapons and backpack tanks, and mounting them on the arms.

Dude... that Juggernaut biker. You just cost me a whole bunch of cash, you know that?

I'm guessing you don't put the fairing on, then mount the front of the Juggernaut where it would go? I've got no experience with the plastic Juggernaut kits.

Also, those are some sweet Contemptors.

@dragonlover, yeah basically. I sawed through the juggernaut neck, giving myself more than I need so it can be trimmed down. The head is separate and can be turned slightly, I want the juggers' heads to look mobile rather than just static figureheads.

@Firepower, on this one I've added the tail section, which is quite small. I might try adding the back end of the juggernaut with the wheel section added somehow, as it does look a little over balance. I was thinking of trying to make some Beastmen terminators out of the hind legs but they're too big.

Heightening the silhouette of the back seems more important than bulking ou the width, but I can't think of anything that would really be as sizable as the beastly front end, like a standard/shrine of some sort...

I'll let you know if I come up with anything. :)

So I got a few more bits and bobs for the Daemonkin yesterday. In total I now have

1 Bloodthirster of the 6th

1 Herald on foot

18 Bloodletter

3 Bikes (edit: I've added some stuff to the back of the bikes too. I'll take pictures later today)

10 marines

Mauler fiend

And potentially 3 chaos spawn (some modelling ideas)

And a load of cultists, once I buy some pistols to give to my Ungors.

Want to get another 3 bikes and Flesh hound when they are restocked (if they haven't been already). Also more marines, then I'll reassess. I'm going to be painting them as Bloodgorged.

Fun concept, alternate Heresy can be pretty fun. Using the magma lines for unit markings is a really novel idea!

Glad to see someone else working on "living" Chaos bikes - I'd love to see that angle worked into the official models, if they're ever updated. I'd recommend trying to find a tail that fits it - I find it goes a long way to suggesting motion, and really helps sell the 'alive' part.
