++ AUGUSTUS b'RAASS ++ pre-heresy BRASS SCORPION p.247

Did you make that spear? if so what bits did you use, or was it whole from another kit? I want one on my bike lord

It's a kitbash: the spear and the lower arm are from the Chaos Knight kit, the upper arm is from the CSM Raptor kit, and the shoulder pad is from the Possessed kit. Hope this helps!

On your legion symbol, the wings... Where did you get them/how did you make them? Lovely stuff! Consider the jetbike pilot's idea partially copied, I was already considering something similar, now, you just committed me!

Wow. Just wow. Your work is amazing, Augustus; I think you've really captured the feel of a Night Lords army. Your conversions, your posing, your mix of FW & GW components, your painting. All of it is great and comes together marvellously.

I'm going to go against the crowd and say the halberd. I think the spear right now looks a bit too much like a sword on a stick. Maybe removing the crossguard below the blade might make it more spearlike in my eyes.

Spear. The halberd looks too top heavy personally. See if you can add a weapon to the bike for him to use after spearing his first target. Think of old knights. Lance kills first few. Switch to sword for close work.

Ok guys, thank you all four the feedback. I agree the halberd is much more choppy, but it's also top heavy, so a spear does look more natural to me.... Plus it's four to two, so either way it's going to be the spear.

Voxxel: Spear

Teetengee: Spear

Clone: Spear.

Malisteen: Halberd
Razarz: Halberd
Forte: Spear

As some of you may have seen I finished the helbrute and forgefiend in my fourth vow, so I did a very character heavy fifth vow, which inlcluded the sorcerer on jetbike, the land speeders, abaddon, and the two chaos characters from DV. I've actually never taken a proper look at these models and I'm now amazed by the level of detail. I'm really looking forward to painting them. I replaced the backpack and the shoulder pad from the dark apostle, so I can start painting him!

Dunno how I'm going to incoprorate him into my fluff, but I'll find a way.

Thanks Halifax! I really appreciate you looking through my stuff here, and of course your positive comments. Thanks!

Little update. I fixed all kinds of fleshy stuff to the jetbike and the land speeders.

I usually don't like to buy the GW Green Stuff. GW basically sells it 10% premixed and thus 10% useless, which is why much prefer the Gale Force Nine tubes - they're seperate. But I was all out of GF9 stock and my local hobby store too, which made me so desperate that I bought GW green stuff. Yay me! Finally got around to doing all the fleshy stuff.

Thanks for looking and as always: CnC most welcome.

In a PM, Flint asked me if I knew the scale difference between an Imperial Knight and a Warhound Titan... My initial thought was "look it up, easy" but it turns out it's not that easy. So I did some research and couldn't find a single picture that offered a good head to toe comparison....

This old one is WAY off

http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2010/4/2/95138-Imperiator,%20Knights,%20Reaver,%20Scale,%20Titan,%20Warhound,%20Warlord.jpg

as the Knight in this one one isn't anything like the modern model plus the reaver is WAY too big for the warhound.

I believe the Knight is to the Warhound as a warhound is to a Reaver. Best comparing pic I could find was this one:

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0L1JksgEScM/U0rxGEJj4eI/AAAAAAAAE3Q/7gpyUqlExTQ/s1600/IMG_3227.jpg

But still no head to toe.

So I used an intermediary: the DreamForge model.

This one compares the dreamforge 15mm titan with the Knight

And this one is the Dreamforge 15mm to the warhound...

So I used my Fantastic Powerz of Windows Paint and concocted this amazingly hightech comparison:

It's not perfect, but it's an ok enough comparison. I hope this helps - at least someone. :biggrin.:

Hi everyone! With the ETL over, I am looking forward to starting some new projects. I've already mentioned somewhere that I had the idea to make a Khorne Lord of Skulls on a defiler chassis - so with legs. I've painstakingly monitored several bits stores and ebay the last couple of months to get the right bits for cheaps, and I think I can finally start it without being hampered by something as distracting as a lack of bits.

Here's where I am after a couple of hours work.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/temporary_zps9450d291.jpg

These are the bits I still have left. Lots of exhausts, gears and pistons, and I'm planning on putting it all together with greenstuff muscles, like I did on my obliterators

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/temporary_zps196396ea.jpg

And this is somewhat what I'm aiming for.

I'm still thinking of a way to make the claw armour more like the brass scorpion though, so if anyone has suggestions, they're welcome!

Plasticard to make the claw tips, cable or green stuff cable made with tentacle tool box along the sides, and then fabricate the giant chainsaws the legs and the claws have.  It'd be a lot of work, but a real nightmare engine once completed I'm sure.

Mighty promising! Way above and beyond what I have ever even tried to convert so no advise from me when it comes to the armour I'm afraid. Kudos for being mad enough to do this though :tongue.:
